This month scholars were able to learn from Ingenia Learning, also known as Smart Girls HQ, to connect real industry careers with a custom STEM project. Scholars enjoyed learning about niche fields that still can be fulfilling and catering to their personal needs and interests. Thank you Ingenia for your time and efforts to make this possible for our scholars!

Do you see her?
Do you hear her?
Does she know she matters?
FirstGen Success is helping young women in Charlotte answer “yes.”
By supporting high-achieving, underserved high school girls on their journey to becoming first-generation college students, this nonprofit is opening doors through mentorship, confidence-building, and real-world guidance.
And the impact is clear: one consistent mentor can change a life.
No perfection required—just commitment, compassion, and showing up.
FirstGen Success is currently recruiting female mentors.
Could that be you?

This past week we hosted our networking event, “The Power of Networking”, where scholars were able to engage and learn from career professionals from various backgrounds. Participants were given one on one time with each professional, guiding questions, as well as the opportunity to receive live feedback from mock interviews. Thank you so much to our volunteering professionals, we appreciate your time and engagement with our scholars!

Scholars, as we enter this next year, remember that success isn’t a straight line — it’s a series of pivots. You might change majors, switch jobs, or discover a new passion halfway through. That’s growth. Every twist in your journey is part of the story.
