TYC and its members were able to donate $200 worth of medicine that will be used to help Tigrayan refugees in Sudan.

This initiative was done in support of our youth community member, Biniam Tekola and his film project with the organization Hope for Children of Tigray. Biniam hopes to attend to the physical and psychological needs of Tigrayan child refugees in Sudan during his trip to document the stories of Tigrayan children through film.

Ruhus Beal Ashenda! While Ashenda is normally filled with joy and freedom for the women of Tigray, this Ashenda comes amidst a genocidal war on Tigray and its people with women and girls enduring unimaginable suffering due to weaponized sexual violence.

Along with countless Tigrayans and our allies, TYC stands with the women of Tigray. This Ashenda, we commemorate them and commit ourselves to supporting them.

Next Saturday, join the Tigrayan Women’s Association of the Carolinas for the Ashenda Festival in Charlotte, NC. All raised proceeds will go towards the Tigray Development Association’s Fundraising efforts for Tigray. Check out the last slide for more info on the event!
