based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, incorporated in Charlotte, North Carolina in June, 2022. Mother for Ukraine has been set up to raise funds through public and private, tax-deductible donations and grants to provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine. citizens to charitable organizations outside the United States are NOT tax-deductible. Mother for Ukraine bridges the gap and provides a tax-deducti
ble conduit, allowing U.S. citizens to donate tax-deductible money that directly supports the humanitarian aid effort with other established charitable organizations in Ukraine and throughout the world that are working in this capacity. A win win, U.S. donors are able to take a tax-deduction on their donations and Ukraine gets the support and humanitarian aid it so desperately needs. Mother for Ukraine filed for 501(c)(3) status with the IRS in June, 2002 and our tax-exempt status is now APPROVED by the IRS. As per the IRS - "When the IRS approves a timely filed exemption application, exempt status is recognized back to the date the organization was created. Thus, while an application is pending, the organization can treat itself as exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3)." "However, contributors to the organization do not have advance assurance of deductibility because the organization’s exemption is pending. If the organization ultimately qualifies for exemption for the period in which the contribution is made, the contribution will be tax-deductible by the donor." We received our 501(c)(3) status by the IRS in September, 2022, and are actively accepting donations and exploring grant opportunities.
