It's a beautiful day to learn about and collaborate together for social good.

🙏Thankful for SHARE Charlotte arranging this discussion hosted by Melissa Hovey of Share Charlotte with panel Betsy Mack of the Charlotte Hornets, Tiara Brown of Charlotte FC and Riley Fields of Carolina Panthers at Junior Achievement of Central Carolinas in Camp North End today to infuse inspiration and resources into nonprofits like us from our city and area.

✨️If you've never visited the Share Charlotte website, it's abundant with nonprofits like us looking for volunteers as well as events all year long to do more good across our region.

🤝 Some of our team members attended today and loved getting to see staff from so many beloved fellow nonprofits (aka boots on the ground) like Roof Above Charlotte Family Housing and SO many more!

We'd like to invite you to join us in celebrating Cindy Davis for today's ! 🎉

✨️Cindy is a Patient Access Specialist, scheduling new MOUD (medications for opioid use disorder) patients for intake for our OTP (Opioid Treatment Program) Clinics. And in May, she just celebrated 14 years on our team!

✨️About her role, Cindy says....
"One of the things I enjoy most about my role is being one of the first people someone talks to when they make the decision to seek treatment. I know that making that first phone call can feel overwhelming and emotional, and many patients are nervous or unsure of what to expect. I try to make every person feel comfortable, heard, and never judged. Even though I may only be one small part of their journey, I hope I can help make that first step a little easier and remind them they’re not alone."

⚾️ Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors, watching her son play college baseball, riding SXS trails, camping, or relaxing by the pool... pretty much anything allows her to unwind and enjoy time with family.

💟 What Cindy wants you to know if you're struggling with substance use disorder:
"I want people to know that reaching out for help is something to be proud of. I talk to people every day who are taking that difficult first step, and I know it’s not easy. You don’t have to have everything figured out before asking for help, and you don’t have to go through it alone. There are people who truly care, who will listen without judgment, and who want to help you find hope and healing."

🙏Thank you for being such a pivotal part of our team for over a decade and for the trauma-informed care you provide our patients, Cindy. We are so very grateful for you!

Let's erase the stigma...together.

We are grateful for Unshame North Carolina inviting our Medical Director, Dr. Logan Adams, MD, to be part of their Learning Together series panel.

➡️ Dr. Adams unpacks how MOUD is cutting overdose deaths IN HALF.
Part 1... more to come!

❓️If you have questions about MOUD for Dr. Adams and our team, feel free to DM us or comment below!

Today's spotlight is shining on Lindsay Blackmon, LCSW, LCAS, our Senior Director of Strategy and Organizational Development

🔟🎊 Lindsay just celebrated her 10 year anniversary with McLeod! She says...

"I enjoy looking at the bigger picture, removing barriers, and finding creative ways to make the greatest impact for both patients and staff. What I love most about working at McLeod is being surrounded by people who are genuinely passionate about helping others and creating positive change."

✨️Outside of her leadership role at McLeod, sh enjoys spending time with her family, browsing thrift stores, and relaxing at the beach. She loves learning new things and am always on the lookout for her next hobby. She welcomes the challenge of a good puzzle and has yet to find an escape room that she doesn't take personally!

✨️ What Lindsay wants people struggling with substance use disorder to know...

"Your worst moments do not define who you are. You deserve support and compassion exactly as you are today. One decision to ask for help can change everything."

🙏 We are grateful for you, Lindsay. Thank you for your decade of commitment to serving our patients and your constant curiosity and commitment to quality care! *Her husband Brandon, who is also in leadership at McLeod, pictured here as well).

We are proud to partner with Hajee House foundation. Our medical director Dr. Logan Adams and one of our counselors, Dane Mullis were part of the team interviewed by WSOC-TV on the vital harm reduction work being done at Hajee House.

In a few months, our brand new mobile unit will be parked at Hajee House where we will be able to serve patients in collaboration with Hajee House's overdose prevention education, resources and training.

💙 How Can I Lose With a Team Like This💜

Today was special. WSOC-TV Channel 9 came out, served alongside us, loved on our community, and showed what true partnership looks like.

But I also have to give flowers to my Hajee House crew. Y’all show up every single time. Through the heat, the long days, the challenges, and the growth, you continue to serve with love, compassion, and dedication.

When I look around and see this team standing together, I can’t help but smile and think… how can I lose with a team like this?

Thank you, WSOC-TV, for believing in our mission. And thank you to my Hajee House family for always holding it down. Together, we are changing lives and building something bigger than ourselves. 💙🙏🏾

Today we celebrate and bid farewell to our beloved Revenue Cycle Manger of 34 years, Marsha Childers. She is the embodiment of compassion while crunching numbers. 🫶

🎊 Our team gathered for a sendoff with stories, tears, speeches, ice cream and lots of hugs.

✨Marsha shared that during her 34 years on staff “There have been so many changes not to mention the 2 name changes. The agency was known as Open House Counseling Service when I was hired. There were only 85 MAT patients, and McLeod was only contracted with Mecklenburg County at that time.

There has been laughter, tears and computer system conversions which caused a lot of the tears. I have met so many wonderful people here and most of these I consider lifelong friends.

It is hard to say goodbye, but I must and I am just transferring to my new position of full time Mimi and pool floater.”

🙏 We are so grateful for all of your faithful years of service to our organization, patients and team. You are a kind soul with the very best heart and may all the gardening and grandmothering fulfill and surround you, Martha!

Our vision to be the healthcare provider of choice for patients with substance use disorder is one we see through a holistic lens.

We know that treatment is more than medicine.
More than appointments.
More than group therapy.
It's beholding the whole person, listening, creating space to be still and present and celebrating successes together.

From a serene reading nook in our residential care unit to friendly staff team serving our medication-assisted treatment patients... to creating unexpected moments of ice cream on a Tuesday for patients, we are here for your recovery journey and will treat each patient with dignity and respect.
