We do have a limited schedule and the person with the purses has moved outside Charlotte recently so if y'all know places between Mecklenburg and Cleveland counties that can benefit from the purses please feel free to share!

Currently we have period products, small hotel sized body washes, shampoos, bar soap and misc hygiene products, purses of all sizes

Hi y'all! Sorry for being a little m.i.a lately but we needed to have a tough but necessary discussion.

We have come to the decision to put a pause on collecting for Bags of Love and take time to evaluate how quickly we have grown as an organization. We're beyond ecstatic at how Charlotte has come through with donations. However, with working full time and our personal lives we feel we haven't been able to give 100% like we should.

With that being said we need to do more work on gaining proper resources so we can better operate with this growth. We are so thankful for y'all giving us the space to do good in the community.

In the meantime we will be using up our current inventory so nothing is sitting around not helping others.

We are so grateful that this organization has taken off like it has and we have made it so far simply on y'all donations. Thank you so much!

📢DROP OFF ALERT📢

This week we met up with to drop off 11 💜 Bags of Love 💜 for women entering their program! Below is a bit more about Hope Haven and all they do for our community:

Hope Haven was founded in 1976 by Arietta Black and Alice Trotter. Concerned with the lack of resources for women in early recovery from alcoholism, they went door to door gathering signatures of support, which they leveraged into a grant from Lance, Inc. Hope Haven used those funds to open its first home, serving five women seeking to rebuild their lives on a solid foundation of recovery.

Today, Hope Haven is a licensed Therapeutic Community, which is a national best practice for the treatment of Substance Use Disorder. We serve more than 300 men, women, and children annually, including individual men and women, single moms with kids, single dads with kids, and intact families. Residents complete our long term program that consists of individual and group counseling, workforce development, job readiness, medical care, housing placement assistance, and more, preparing them for healthy independent living.

💜 Happy Wednesday 💜 We're excited to share with you someone we work with helping us provide some essential products in our Bags of Love but we'll let them share more about themselves

I'm Audrey, I'm a 30-something Charlotte native who really loves this city. In early 2017, I founded a non-profit called "Flo Charlotte" to meet the menstrual hygiene needs of underserved populations within our city. This includes people experiencing homelessness, low-income students, people in domestic violence shelters, and anyone else who needs these products. Our organization is purely run by donations, and we distribute them to orgs within the city that are working on the front lines of these issues. It's our goal to support them as they support others.

By day I work in marketing for a local manufacturing company. In my free time, I'm a watercolor portrait artist. I have a bunch of animals and garden as much as possible. Being a part of Flo Charlotte allows me to really impact the city I love from my little farm in the outskirts. I'm always so grateful to the city for its support.

Feel free to follow and help them provide a much needed service in our city 💜
