Today, we don’t just acknowledge members of the transgender community. We celebrate them, their lives and their accomplishments in a world that too often makes things harder than they should be.

Trans people face disproportionate rates of poverty, prejudice and violence compared to their cisgender peers.
The weight of that reality shows up in heartbreaking statistics:
💔 82% of transgender individuals have considered su***de.
💔 40% have attempted to end their life.
These numbers aren’t just data. They’re a call to action for all of us.

If you or someone you know is struggling, free, confidential, 24/7 support – run by trans people, for trans people – is available:
📞 Trans Lifeline: 877-565-8860

Can we talk about how our dogs literally save us every single day? Because science actually backs this up and it’s the most wholesome thing ever.

Studies show that pets – especially our precious pups – are vital to our mental health. Like, your dog really does know when you’re having a bad day. Research confirms that pets have this magical ability to sense when we need comfort. 💕

And it’s not just the snuggles – even the “chores” of pet ownership, like feeding and walking your pup, can pull you out of a funk and give your mind a much-needed break from stress. Who knew filling a food bowl could be therapeutic?😂

But wait: There’s more. Our dogs create routine, stability and a reason to get up and keep going, even on the hardest days. For people dealing with anxiety, depression or other mental health challenges, that sense of security and unconditional love can be genuinely life-changing. 🙌

So today, squeeze your pups a little tighter and remember: They’re not just a pet. They’re your therapist, your best friend and your whole heart. 🐾❤️

💚 This month, let’s show up for the women in our lives — and for ourselves.

Check in on the women in your life. Ask how they’re really doing. Remind them it’s okay to not always be okay – and that they don’t have to figure it out alone. Wherever a woman is in her life journey, she deserves to be seen, celebrated and supported.

And if you’re a woman reading this: You matter, too! Take a moment this month to celebrate your wins, big and small – and be honest with yourself about how you’re doing. You give so much to others. Give a little back to yourself.

Women carry so much – often putting everyone else first. But your mental health is the foundation everything else is built on. Here are some simple ways to start showing up for yourself:

Quick self-care check-in:
• 😴 Prioritize sleep – 7 to 9 hours makes a real difference.
• 🚶 Move your body – even a 30-minute walk counts.
• ☀️ Get outside and soak up some sunshine.
• 🧘 Try meditation, mindfulness or prayer.
• 💬 Talk to someone you trust if you’re struggling.
• Reach out to a doctor or mental health professional if you need more support.

If you’re in Charlotte and the cost of mental health counseling is an issue, you don’t have to go through hard things alone.

Psychology For All delivers free counseling services for under-resourced people through partnerships with diverse, licensed mental health clinicians and referral agencies, while promoting community mental health awareness. Reach out to us at the link in our bio.

Feel free to tag a woman in your life who deserves to see this today.
