Valentine’s Day Widow Outreach Project The Valentine’ Day Widow Outreach Project was created to bless Widows with Flowers & Gifts on VDay I also asked them to consider donating money and/or time.

In 2021, after designing my Valentine's Day floral I began to think about the women who had lost their spouses, the women that feel so much hurt and pain on Valentine's Day. I asked my followers to send me the names and addresses of Widows in our community. I hoped to send gift bags and flowers to 50 women. Within 2 weeks we had enough funds and volunteers to serve 121 Widows. Our community came t

ogether with donations from small businesses that as well that made the gift bags even more exciting. It was a weekend full of rain and cold temps but there was so much joy. Dick's Sporting Goods donated tents to keep us dry and we had Solo Stoves to keep us warm. The nominees were touched by the gifts and flowers - some were in total shock that they were remembered on Valentine's Day by mostly total strangers. In 2022, we set an initial goal to serve 175 Widows. Within 10 days we had funds and nominations for 300! The nomination number has steadily climbed to 350 and we ultimately served 400 Widows in 2022!

​We set our signs high for 2023 with a goal to serve 800 Widows in Charlotte, NC. We are also mentoring women in Wexford, PA as well as Hutchinson, MN. As we raise funds, it is my hope that we can expand and bring this project to more cities. It would be my dream that one day we can bless widows in every state.

When you nominate a widow, we ask that you tell us a little bit about her. We received a nomination request that was quite different than the usual. The young woman who wrote lost her husband just one year ago. she has since started a support group for other widows to come together. In just one year a group of 26 has formed and has number has grown every month. 🥹 She provides them dinner as well as the opportunity to grieve and support one another - every month. She requested that she possibly nominate two widows and give the gifts as door prizes. Of course, we called her immediately and told her that we would like to bless every single widow in her group. I told her we would also like to provide dinner to her group. While we are continuing to raise money, I know there are people in the community that have offered their support. If you know a local business or restaurant that would like to provide dinner to 26 women and 10 small children, please send me a message. It will be a beautiful night of fellowship and also quite the surprise for these women. As always, we hope that upon receiving these gifts, they realize that they are not forgotten - that they are seen, and that they are loved.

My friend .bushnell - owner of several Burn Boot Camps in the Charlotte area reached out to me a few weeks ago, asking how her and her Gyms can help. Because this dinner is two days before Valentine’s Day they will be working alongside some people from our team to get all of the arrangements built and gift baskets put together for that night. To tell you it takes a village is an understatement. I am grateful for so many amazing people in our community and the love we show.

We are less than 30 days away from the 2024 Valetinens Day Widow Outreach Project ♥️♥️♥️

I am humbled at the outpouring of support. In less than 24 hours - we had over 700 volunteer spots FILLED! Do you know that that means - it means that this project matters to a whole lot of people - and there are SO MANY MORE that we can reach!! Please consider donating - while I really do not enjoy the fundraising part - it really is essential for us to meet our goal this year and allow us to grow this project.

I hope these words above resonate with you. To think of MLK praying them - and all of these years later to see the impact his life has had on our world. God sure did use him and the ripples continue to reach us in 2024. Wow.

There is a lot of work going on behind-the-scenes as we prepare to launch the biggest Valentine’s Day Widow Outreach Project yet!!

Our goal for 2024 is to serve over 1000 Widows in Charlotte!

This has been my prayer for so many this year - in many walks of my life. As we start the New Year my mind shifts to those who are hurting on this January 1st.

The Valentine’s Day Widow Outreach Project is just one way that we can serve and uplift some of the most beautiful souls in our community.

Stay tuned. The next 45 days are going to be a blur but they are going to be BEAUTIFUL.
