No sooner do we think we are making headwave on the vet bill at Hambright Animal Hospital, we experience a set back emotionally and financially.

This past Saturday, Lainey and her foster brother got into an altercation over a Kong. Lainey took the brunt of it (both dogs are fine now). She went to Carolina Veterinary Specialists Medical Center and received medical care. They have given us 3 days to raise the funds for the attached invoice so we have extended our fundraiser of who should be the next bachelor.

Any funds raised over the invoice from Carolina Veterinary Specialists will go towards the invoices at Hambright Animal Hospital.

Lainey will be moved to another foster November 1st. Lainey will be fostered by Rescue Mom after this weekend (Ryder will be spending time with Rescue Mom Saturday). Until Lainey is moved, her foster parents are rotating Lainey and her foster brother. No one is at fault here….things happen quickly.

“Tomorrow afternoon we will post the similarities and differences for Lainey and Jasper….we were doing a photoshoot today and ran out of time to write everything.

Photoshoot for what you may ask….tomorrow morning we will be doing our next fundraiser…’Who Will Be The Next Bachelor?’
This week we paid off one invoice and put donations on two others so they wouldn’t seem so big. We currently are down to owing Hambright Animal Hospital $1,200!

We have included those invoices in this post….we have depleted almost everything we had but we will be ok.

Oh, I forgot….the amount is $1,227….I had my nails trimmed today 😊 “.

Today is “Fact Friday”….where we tell you the facts about the dogs…this morning is Loki and Ryder…this afternoon will be Lainey and Jasper. (Harper is a hospice foster).

Similar facts about both Loki and Ryder:
⭐️ both Shepherd mixes…more Shepherd in them than the mix 😊
⭐️ both loyal and loving to their person or family
⭐️ both funny and goofy when the time is right
⭐️ both very aware of their surroundings
⭐️ both food motivated
⭐️ both NOT brewery dogs due to their high alertness of their surroundings
⭐️ both are no cats
⭐️ both are amazing dogs
⭐️ both housetrained- do not destroy anything and no accidents
⭐️ both like to have schedules
⭐️ would prefer being the only pup- Ryder loves the attention and is not a rough-housing kind of guy. Loki is young and still learning. Would be better to teach Loki what is expected in your home and then bring a younger sibling in if desired.

Differences:
🏃 Ryder (10 years old) is on the mature side - measures how far you are walking and then puts the brakes on to let you know it’s time to turn around and go back to where you started
🏃 Loki (2 years old) could go for miles and miles and miles
🏠 Ryder needs to be coaxed in his crate, usually with a chicken strip for dogs by Full Moon
🏠 As soon as Loki hears the bag of Full Moon chicken strips open, he is already in his crate
🚗 Ryder is great in the car…will tell you if a person or car (especially a big truck) is getting too close to you 😊
🚗 Loki thinks that every person who drives needs assistance…he is a backseat driver
⚽️ Ryder is more a ‘throw the toy’ kind of guy than ‘throw the ball’
⚽️ Loki is ‘throw whatever you want and I will retrieve it’ kind of guy
☔️ Ryder doesn’t like to go out in the rain
☔️ Loki thinks rain is no problem
🎆 Ryder is not a fan of thunderstorms and fireworks….will go in crate or hide under desk
🎆 Loki sleeps through thunderstorms and thinks fireworks are gunshots…will bark to alert

So there you have it…what we can say is that these two guys have the biggest heart and will love you for being you. We ask that you love them for them.

“Ryder here….Happy Thursday! Yesterday I posted some information about myself. Well, yesterday I spent some time with Rescue Mom. She said I’m the best guy! While she worked, I periodically checked on her to make sure she was ok (and to see if I could have a treat 😊). When we went out back, I trotted around with my toy and engaged her to follow me 🏃‍♀️.

When Rescue Mom was taking me back to my foster, we were sitting at a light and I saw a guy four car lengths ahead of us. I gave a warning bark ‘this car is protected’…..but the guy didn’t listen or wasn’t paying attention. He started getting closer which means my bark reached the ‘fully engaged mark’ where it’s a deeper bark…which says ‘don’t even try it’….message received. The bark along with my stellar look was enough to make him put his hand in the air as if to say ‘forget it’ and turn around.

But if you are my person, it works both ways too. What does that mean….my adopter would need to protect me….from people who run up in my space before I have a chance to scan them for threats…to always have my back like I have theirs. I am extremely loyal…I’m looking for someone just as loyal as I am…are you the one I’m looking for?”

The guesses are in and the weight was taken yesterday at Hambright Animal Hospital for each pup, Lainey and Loki. We had a lot of close guesses but only one person guessed it right on the nose…and that was Tracey! The combined weight of both Loki and Lainey is 137 lbs. “Hi, today is ‘Who Knew’ Wednesday! What is that…it’s the day Ryder and I give you more insight who we are…we are Shepherd mixes. Ryder and I have been in the Rescue and are the best kept secret…that’s the only reason we can come up with due to it being crickets for us (no one asking about us).

So we thought this would be a great time to let you know about us:

🐾 we are Shepherd mixes
🐾 we are both looking for separate forever homes
🐾 we bark…we bark at anything that moves outside
🐾 we will protect you
🐾 worried about stopping at a gas station at night- not with either one of us in the car. We have your back…heck, we have all of you covered!
🐾 can’t sleep- worried about an intruder - we have that covered too - our hearing is amazing and so is our sight- our bark deters intruders more so than an alarm
🐾 but we are not all business- we play- and we engage you to relax by playing with us
🐾 you are gone for a minute (kitchen, bathroom, bedroom)…we will find you like we are your personal body guard
🐾 smart - extremely- we pick up on your cues and are on it before you can say our name.

What each of us need though is:
♥️ a separate home- one of us is all you need
♥️ someone who is experienced with German Shepherds

♥️ we both herd…so it may be good right now to be the only dog in the home
