NOT MY WORDS - RATHER A QUESTION/SITUATION POSED FROM SOMEONE ELSE:

โ€œI spent twenty years running groups for men who were abusive and violent to partners and their children. In those twenty years I was faced with all manner of excuses and justifications for those behaviors. One of those "reasons" stands out to me after all these years:

-One man explained his violence to his pregnant wife by claiming she lied to him about smoking while pregnant.

He positioned himself as the protector of his own born child -even as he assaulted his unborn child's mother, injuring her and putting their unborn baby in danger of injury and even death.

How often do men using violence and control cloak their behavior in the justification of protecting the very same people they are harming?โ€
