Friends of the Lyceum Schoolhouse is a 501c3 set up to raise funds for the maintenance and restoration of this architectural gem in East Charlotte. We work closely with the Charlotte Grange to help achieve their vision of the Hall becoming a resource for the whole community. Your donations are greatly appreciated as our restoration program continues - our next task is the repair and painting of the exterior. The Lyceum Schoolhouse was built 150 years ago. At the heart of the Baptist Corners historic district in Charlotte, it was built as a Lyceum by the Charlotte Young Men's Literary Club then used as a schoolhouse, and since 1958 the home of the Charlotte Grange. This year marks its 150th anniversary and our work has continued to preserve and restore with historical gem as a resource for the whole community.
