Prayas Charlotte is a local nonprofit organization run by a few Marathi people from our Charlotte, North Carolina community. We organize fundraisers for smaller organizations in Maharashtra, ensuring that every donated dollar is effectively utilized for social causes. In the last 9 years, we have helped build structures such as kitchen or dining hall for orphanages, and built 2 girls hostels, etc.

We are very excited to let everyone know that we have finalized our 2025 Prayas initiative project. In 2025, Prayas Charlotte is raising funds for an educational project at three residential schools in a small village called Vada, in Palghar district near Nashik, Maharashtra, India. These schools are built under Ashram Shala, a program of Government of India.

In the last 8 years, we have helped build structures such as kitchen or dining fall for orphanages, and built 2 girls hostels too.
We are very excited to let everyone know that we have finalized our 2024 Prayas initiative project. This year's Prayas initiative is in education field to help improve educational level of kids in Palghar district

100% of the donated money will go towards educating school teachers’ with Pratham methodology, buying books, teaching materials, building infrastructure / liberty on wheels which will help improve education quality. We also plan to get involved in adult and women education in the village.

For the last few years, we have built structures such as kitchens, dining halls, and dormitories for women. We are very excited to announce that we have finalized our 2024 Prayas initiative project. This year's Prayas initiative focuses on the field of education, aiming to improve the educational level of children in the Palghar district.

Last year in May, we closed a fundraiser for an organization called Shehwan - A Ray of Hope in India. The primary objective of the fundraiser was to raise funds for the construction of a much-needed girl's hostel near Alandi - Pune in the state of Maharashtra, India. Aim of the project was to provide a safe and nurturing space for young girls, empowering them to pursue their dreams and education. We are very happy to share an update on the progress of the project.
Thanks to the collective efforts of all those involved, we have made significant strides towards making this hostel a reality. It brings us immense joy to see the positive impact we can create when we come together to support a worthy cause. Let's continue working together to create a brighter future for those in need!

Here are some updates on Prayas Charlotte Charity’s water conservation project near Chalisgaon, Maharashtra (India ) for this year.

After just one rainfall, the pond we constructed has reached its full capacity. The project's main objective is to construct trenches and reservoirs in strategic locations with the assistance of geologists to efficiently harness water resources. The water collected in these structures will gradually flow into nearby wells, providing the villagers with a reliable water source that can last for several months. This initiative is particularly challenging in an area with minimal rainfall, but it has the potential to significantly improve the groundwater levels.

We are pleased to report that we are witnessing positive outcomes from our efforts. Multiple ponds, similar to the one mentioned, are currently under construction. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our generous donors for their unwavering support throughout this fundraiser for 2023

Prayas Charlotte Charity raises funds every year for unprivileged kids in rural Maharashtra and do projects for them. We are happy to announce that Kalayatree - a charlotte based organization is organizing a show of Marathi commercial play (अश्रूंची झाली फुले ). It’s going to be a live theatrical performance by professional artists from India.
All the profits will be donated to Prayas Charlotte Charity 2022 projects.
