🌴 100 YEARS OF THE PALM: In 1926, The Palm opened its doors in New York City.

Seventy-one years later, the Italian American restaurant arrived in Charlotte, opening at Phillips Place in 1997 as SouthPark was becoming one of Charlotte’s premier dining and shopping destinations.

For generations of Charlotteans, The Palm has been the spot for business lunches, milestone dinners, first dates, and plenty of stories in between.

Celebrate a century of The Palm on October 17 with a five-course culinary experience featuring a thoughtfully crafted Palm-inspired menu, paired with distinguished Italian and Napa Valley wines.

👰‍♀️ FASHION IN FULL BLOOM: Ladies of Lineage and Anne Neilson Fine Art recently teamed up for an exclusive one-night-only living exhibition celebrating the intersection of art and fashion.

🌸 Inspired by the gallery’s Bold & Marigold exhibition, handcrafted bridal gowns were paired with floral artwork throughout the space, bringing color, texture, and form to life in an entirely new way, from canvas to couture.

🌸 Bold & Marigold is now on view at Anne Neilson Fine Art. The gallery hosts new artworks each month, and next month, you can experience the Wild at Heart exhibition, featuring dynamic works layered with rich texture, expressive brushwork, and whimsical animals that bring charm and personality to the collection.

🌸 Ladies of Lineage is adding renowned designer Peter Langner to its permanent designer collection. Langner will be in the boutique November 20–21 to personally meet with brides and present his latest collection.

The Motion Fitness Running Scared 5K is back in SouthPark, and this year’s race is extra special. Not only is it the 10th anniversary, but it also falls on Halloween 🎃

For 60 years, SouthPark Church has been part of the SouthPark story. From its beginnings as Sharon United Methodist Church to its place at the center of today’s Apex SouthPark campus, its history reflects how much the neighborhood has changed over the decades. Here’s a look back ⬇️

➡️ 1966
SouthPark Church was founded as Sharon United Methodist Church. Its first service was held on September 4, followed by its formal establishment with 60 members on October 2.

➡️ The decades that followed
The church became a familiar landmark in SouthPark, known for its distinctive architecture and sweeping roofline. For generations of Charlotteans, the building became affectionately known as the “ski slope” church.

➡️ Today
The surrounding campus has been reimagined as Apex SouthPark, bringing new apartments, retail, restaurants, and a hotel to the property. Through all that change, SouthPark Church remains a recognizable part of the neighborhood and its history.

🤝 As SouthPark continues to evolve, landmarks like SouthPark Church remind us of the places and stories that have helped shape the community over time.

🎉 SouthPark Church will celebrate its 60th anniversary on October 18, with a piano and organ concert featuring Lee Northcutt and John Stafford kicking off the celebration on October 11.
