When L.A.O.S board members asked the cultural dance performers what they love most about being part of the Lao American Outreach Society, what they see in themselves, what they gain, and why they stay, their answers were beautifully consistent.

They spoke about community.
They spoke about a true sense of belonging.
They spoke about sisterhood.
And most importantly, they spoke about preserving our heritage, honoring where we come from while confidently stepping into who they are becoming.

That kind of alignment doesn’t happen by accident. It’s culture. It’s intention. It’s legacy in motion.

As board members, we are deeply honored by their commitment, their trust, and their dedication to building something that will last for generations. What they are creating isn’t just performance, it’s preservation. It’s identity. It’s a living legacy.

Another great practice and outting day with our culture dance performancers
Boua, Lia, Haedyn, Ameryn and Geneva. Special thanks to our Dance Director Nang Putsamai for her relentless dedication 👏
Our performers will be well prepared for April and May performances 💃 🕺 💃

Thank you to the parents for their support, you are the reason they have an opportunity and thriving.

More volunteers needed: if you are high-school students and have children in higher-school or middle-school, we would love to have them add to the team.

July 26, 2025

We extend our sincerest apologies to our students, their parents, their devoted dance instructor, and to the community members who came out in support—only to miss the performance that was so eagerly anticipated. Our dancers dedicated countless volunteer hours to perfect their craft, and we are incredibly proud of their hard work, passion, and commitment.
It was heartbreaking to witness our students sidelined instead of being celebrated and included in the event. They deserved better. We must do better.

At L.A.O.S., we make this open apology with humility and a renewed awareness of how our community partnerships can directly affect our youth, our board members, and the broader community. We remain fully committed to our mission and to the young people we serve.

This experience has prompted necessary reflection. Moving forward, we are committed to building stronger, more thoughtful partnerships and ensuring that the spaces we engage in truly uplift and include our students and the community as a whole.

With respect and continued support 🙏

Thank you,

05.04.2025

We are so proud of our youth dance group—their debut performance was absolutely outstanding!

Lao American Outreach Society Dance Performance – May 4, 2025

Our LAOS Dance performers did an outstanding job showcasing their incredible talent and cultural pride at the Lincolnton Temple this past weekend! We are so proud of their performance and the beautiful way they represented Lao heritage through dance.

A heartfelt thank you to LAOS Board Member and Dance Director Nang Putsamai, and our dedicated youth leaders Haley and Chloe, for their tireless work in preparing the performers. This program would not be possible without the commitment of our young dancers, whose passion and pride truly shine on stage.

Special thanks also to the parents for your continued support – your involvement helps make these opportunities a reality!

Next up: Join us at the Asian Festival on May 17, 2025, where our dance performers will take the stage once again and also compete in the Dragon Boat Race!
Come out and support us – we’d love to see you there!
