🥾🇺🇸 Hiking Club | September Hike 🇺🇸 🥾

Our Hiking Club kicked off the year with a special adventure celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States!

Our first two hikes are part of the journey to earn the First in Freedom patch, with Cubs learning about the people and places that played a role in the founding of our country.

For our September hike, we visited three local historic sites with Mecklenburg County Historian Brandon Lunsford: Alexandriana Historic Site, Hopewell Presbyterian Church, and the area surrounding McGuire Nuclear Plant. At each stop, Brandon shared fascinating stories about the history of the site and its connection to our nation’s founding.

It was a great morning of hiking, history, and learning about the story right in our own backyard!

A great night at Pack 1’s Open House! We welcomed new members and gave families a glimpse into the fun of Cub Scouting—from building and racing boats at the Raingutter Regatta to creative marshmallow challenges (and, of course, s’mores!). We loved seeing new and returning families connect, build, race, and have fun together. It’s never too late to join the fun! If you’re interested in Pack 1, reach out—we’d love to have you.

Akela Meeting this week!

A quick reminder for our new families: Akela is our adult-only meeting where parents and Pack leaders get together to plan, coordinate, and prepare for upcoming Scout activities.

Scouts can sit this one out — we’ll see them at the next Pack meeting!

🏕️✨ Camp Powhatan 2026 ✨🏕️

As we look back on Summer Camp 2026 at the beautiful Camp Powhatan in Hiwassee, Virginia, our pack couldn't be more proud of everything our Cub Scouts accomplished! Whether it was aiming down the sights at BB guns and archery, getting creative with hands-on camp crafts, or sharing laughs around the campfire during evening skits, these cubs truly showed what Scouting is all about.

This Father’s Day, we’re celebrating the dads and father figures who make Pack 1 special.

We’re grateful for the men who show up—whether it’s camping under the stars, racing Pinewood Derby cars, leading hikes, serving the community, or simply spending quality time with their Cub Scouts.
