TFFT concluded a 6-day teacher training at The Learning Centre, led by Amani, our Teacher Training Program Manager. The workshop brought together 20 teachers and district education leaders from Meru District to strengthen foundational literacy and numeracy for students in Grades 1–3. A highlight of the week was a poem written and presented by the teachers, celebrating six days of learning, collaboration, and professional growth. We are grateful to the dedicated educators and district leaders who joined us as we work together to build stronger foundations and brighter futures for young learners.

For 20 years, we’ve celebrated the brilliance of African children, not just today, but every day. This Day of the African Child, we’re reflecting on two decades of scholars in Tanzania who have shown us what’s possible when a child is believed in, seen, supported, and given the chance to lead. At TFFT, we get to witness that every single day. through scholarships, wraparound support, and a community that refuses to let them go unseen.

TFFT hosted a teacher training workshop on inclusion and competency-based learning. Educators from Nord Anglia Education and Meru DC came together for shared learning and meaningful dialogue, strengthening practice to ensure every child is seen, heard, and valued. Happy International Day of Play!
The chance to play, laugh, imagine, explore, and simply be a kid is such an important part of childhood. Yet for many children growing up in vulnerable circumstances, those opportunities are not always guaranteed. That’s why play is such an important part of life at our Learning Centre. We have a dedicated play space that is open not only to our scholars, but free for children in the surrounding community to enjoy as well. Whether they’re bouncing on a trampoline, dressing up, solving puzzles, or kicking a ball around with friends, children have a safe place to play, connect, and just be kids. Play is more than just fun. It supports healthy emotional development, helps children build resilience, strengthens social connections, and brings joy. These moments may seem small, but they have a lasting impact.

Our team was proudly a part of the Teachers of Distinction Awards at Meru DC, an initiative created by TFFT to recognize and celebrate teachers whose students excelled in the 2025 National Examinations. As part of the event, TFFT recognized 45 outstanding teachers and reaffirmed its commitment to partnering with the government, educational stakeholders, and communities to improve teaching, learning, and student outcomes across Meru District.

Today we’re celebrating the meaningful steps we’re taking to build a more sustainable future at our Learning Centre. From harnessing solar energy to introducing a water filtration system that reduces reliance on single-use plastic bottles, we’re committed to creating a healthier environment for both people and the planet. Sustainability is a journey, and we’re proud to be making choices that benefit our students, our community, and future generations!
