719 pre-registrants! Pre-registration ends at noon today. Late registration continues from 4-6 p.m. FRIDAY, and 7-8:30 a.m. Saturday morning. We potentially may run out of medals for the Family Mile participants. If a youngster does not get a medal-please DM me at this account the week FOLLOWING the race and you will be sent one.

Almost 450 pre-registrants for the Jeff Drenth/Venetian Festival 1 mile/5 k/10 k runs; Four more days to take advantage of early registration $5.00 off entry fees. Special thanks to our Ryan Shay Mile host families who open up their homes, feed, and sometimes provide taxi service to town for the invited runners. Runners from Charlevoix have been ascending Mt. McSauba sine the 1970’s. Today was the first “McSauba” run of the summer. Well done!

Fortunate to have Brooks, and Shorts Brewing Company sign on as new sponsors of the races. Brooks will be providing performance socks for all of the Ryan Shay Mile competitors and Shorts will be providing their non-alcoholic "Thirst Mutilator" for these competitors as well. As in previous year's Munson Health Care-Charlevoix Area Hospital is the bib sponsor for both the Ryan Shay Mile, and the 5 K runs. Ace Hardware is the bib sponsor for the Family Mile while the Dairy Grille is the bib sponsor for the 10 k run. Honored to have the support of these national and local businesses.

Looking for a good cause to support? Venetian/Jeff Drenth races still have some spots for “T” shirt sponsors. Very simple-donate $150.00 (or more) and have your business or names emblazoned on 15 (or more) competitor “T” shirts. These shirts can be seen around the town and around the country. Heck; you could even put your favorite pets names on the back if you’d like. Rumor has it 15 shirts may have two Golden Retrievers names featured (Winnie and Mo).
