The St Mary's Conquest, photographed this morning out on Lake Michigan, is a 560 foot integrated tub-barge built in 1937. Formerly a steamer, this vessel was converted into a cement carrying barge after its pilothouse and cabins were removed. It is paired with the tug Bradshaw McKee which provides its propulsion through the Great Lakes, and the icy waters have produced major difficulties in approaching the cement plant for a load up.
