The Free Breakfast Club (Tuesdays and Fridays) is looking for some volunteers. We can use people in all areas to expand our volunteer base. Do you like to cook? (this involves being at the senior center from 6:00 a.m. - 7:30ish am. the real need is on Tuesdays right now, but could be used to sub on Fridays.),
Servers: 6:30 a.m. - 9:10 a.m. and subs for our dishwashers 7:30-10 a.m..
We train on the job, have a great group of people to work with and help to give back to our community. If you are interested in finding our more about what is involved, private message us and we will get back to you.

Yesterday we gave out 111 backpacks to area students. It was a wonderful ending to our Games and Grub summer. So many wonderful volunteers who helped set up, organize, handout, greeted, grilled and served during the school supply distribution. THANK YOU-THANK YOU-THANK YOU

A HUGE shout out to all our Amazing Volunteers this year who made Games & Grub and the School Supply Distribution possible this summer, from grocery baggers, cardboard recycling, griller, servers, sorters, trailer pullers, kid players, nail painters, basketball players. We grilled over 600 hotdogs, gave out 340 bags of groceries and many relationships were developed I'd love to name everyone, but I know I'd forget someone and everyone was so important to make this ministry successful. THANK YOU - THANK YOU - THANK YOU ALL.

Thank you also to all who donated funds and supplies: Grey Gables, Kiwanis Youth Foundation, Charlevoix Community Foundation, Meijer of Petoskey, and many individual donations. Together we make this community an amazing place to live and work to reach out to our children.
All the extra school supplies were taken to St. Mary School and Charlevoix Elementary School

TODAY is the day if you have a student in the Charlevoix School district (pre-k through HS) or St Mary's School or home school, each student will be able to pick out a backpack and get all their needed school supplies, from pencils to markers to folders etc.
We will also be grilling hotdogs, and chips.
Get your school supplies and feed your kids at the same time! EVERYTHING IS FREE!

WEDNESDAY: Don miss out, for public school students, St Mary's students and home school students. There will be grilled hot dogs, chips, cookies and water.

Tomorrow is our last week at games and Grub. You don't have to live at these places to enjoy the fun and receive groceries.
Next Wednesday, 4:00-5:30 at First Baptist Church is our School Supply distribution for all public, St Mary's and home schoolers.

You have one week to drop off your donations. There are great sales at Meijer and Walmart.
We are collecting the School Supplies in the Games & Grub Red Trailer parked by First Baptist Church, M-66. There is “a pass-through” window marked for the collections. Cash donations may be sent to Safe Haven Ministries CHX, PO Box 253 Charlevoix 49720
Or PayPal, the QR code is on list of items needed.
Please take note of the list of supplies needed, we have lists from the schools and these correspond with them. We purchase the big items ie backpacks, headphones etc so children are receiving same quality items
Distribution is set for Wednesday, August 19th, 4:00-5:30 pm in the gym at First Baptist Church.
We are expecting to serve over 100 Charlevoix children this year

We are at it again tomorrow, you don't have to live at either of these places to join the fun and receive groceries for you kids.
IF IT IS RAINING TOMORROW WE WILL STILL BE HANDING OUT GROCERIES...11 am at Charlevoix Estates...Noon at Lighthouse Apartments.
