Hello Charlestown. For many years the scouts from troop 31 have worked hard to make successful our annual food drive called “Scouting for Food”. With our hard work and your wonderful generosity, we have been able to support the Charlestown food shelf incredibly well. Unfortunately due to low numbers in our troop this year we will not be able to get out to all of the neighborhoods that we have covered in the past. In light of this, we will be holding a food drive this Saturday November 5th between 8 am and noon. We will be set up at Cobb Co on Main Street across from Ralph’s and we hope that anyone who would like to make a donation will stop by. The scouts will be happy to help unload any food items for you. We know that this will likely fall far short of our usual harvest, but we hope to have a decent turn out and we look forward to seeing any and all that stop by. Thank you in advance. Also thank you to Joe and Tom at Cobb Co for letting us set up there.

There is still time to get your cardboard sled together and join the scouts from Troop 31 tomorrow. The races will start at noon at the Charlestown Primary School. Come out and have some fun! All ages are welcome. We will be giving out awards for best design but remember, your sled doesn’t have to be beautiful to be the fastest!

We were supposed to have six scouts at this years Klondike Derby but due to illness and injury we were down to three but these three right here did an amazing job and brought home a second place finish. I am so proud of them. Great job guys!
