🔨❤️ LOCAL BUSINESSES — CAN YOU “BEAT 40”? ❤️🔨

Alford Foundations and Alford Pest Control have challenged our community to come together and build MORE than 40 beds for local children who are sleeping on the floor!

We're calling on local businesses to step up! 💪

🛏️ Sponsor a bed build!

🔨 Bring your employees together for a meaningful team-building experience!

❤️ Donate bedding, supplies, or financial support!

Let's turn friendly competition into life-changing impact! Challenge another local business to join you!

Together, we can BEAT 40 and give more children the safety, comfort, and dignity of a bed of their own.

A sponsored team-building bed build creates an impact that lasts long after the final screw is tightened. Employees leave with more than great memories—they leave knowing they worked side by side to make a real difference in a child’s life.

For the community, it’s a powerful reminder of what can happen when local businesses invest their time, resources, and people into a shared purpose. A bed build strengthens teams, builds connections, and gives children something every child deserves: a safe, comfortable place to sleep.

Build a bed. Build a team. Build a stronger community.

From donor-advised to dreams delivered. 🛏❤️

Your donor-advised fund can do more than sit in an account. It can deliver a good night's sleep for a child in need. On DAF Day, Oct. 8, recommend a grant to our chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace and help give a local child a safe, comfortable bed so they can sleep well and DREAM BIG. Search "Sleep in Heavenly Peace, Inc." in your DAF portal or learn more here https://shpbeds.org/blog/daf-day-give-to-sleepin-heavenly-peace-through-a-donor-advised-fund/

🔨 Who says building beds has to be boring?! ❤️

There’s plenty of room for laughter, teamwork, and a little fun while we work together for a much greater purpose.

Every board we sand, every screw we tighten, and every bed we build means security, safety, comfort, and dignity for a child who deserves a bed of their own.

We may be having fun while we build—but the impact is serious and lasting. 🛏️❤️

🧪 A Little Bed-Building Chemistry! 🛏️

What happens when vinegar meets steel wool? A little chemistry—and a whole lot of SHP magic!

Together, they create a simple, nontoxic wood stain that gives our beds that beautiful, rustic finish while helping make the wood less inviting to some insects. No harsh stain fumes—just an old-fashioned solution that works beautifully with our mission.

It’s one more way we put thought and care into every bed we build—because every child deserves a bed made with safety, comfort, and love. ❤️

How do we get the SHP logo on the beds? Glad you asked!

Every volunteer gets the chance to brand a bed with the hot branding iron. It makes the experience even more memorable for us all!

Disclaimer: all brands are done with safety in mind (fire resistant gear) and adult supervision. 😬🫶

Get your chance to brand at our next public build!

Labor of Love Day was a busy one! 💛

Students donated hygiene supplies, made blankets, donated bedding, pillows, and partnered with the Sleep in Heavenly Peace Kanawha County Chapter to help build 10 beds for children in our community!

We love seeing our students put service into action and use their time, teamwork, and compassion to make a meaningful difference. This is occupational therapy at its core: supporting participation, dignity, comfort, and quality of life in the communities we serve.
