Our amazing youth had a hands-on STEM experience as they built solar-powered windmills, learning how innovation and renewable energy can help shape a brighter future.

In honor of Women’s History Month, they also stepped into the spotlight with thoughtful presentations highlighting trailblazing women scientists whose discoveries changed the world. From laboratories to launchpads, these young minds learned that brilliance has no limits.

Today we proudly shine a light on Mother Member Yasmine-Imani McMorrin — a true embodiment of leadership, service, and sisterhood.

A charter member of JJWLA and currently serving as our Parliamentarian, Yasmine continues to lead with excellence both within our chapter and beyond. She is the former Mayor of Culver City, current City Council Member, accomplished attorney, education equity advocate, and dedicated mom.

Professionally, Yasmine brings her passion for justice and opportunity to her role as Director of Education Equity at the Children’s Defense Fund–California, where she works to ensure every child has access to the education they deserve. Her extensive experience across higher education, public policy, and DEI programming reflects her unwavering commitment to equity and impact.

đź’™ Through it all, she balances leadership and motherhood with grace, showing our children what it means to serve, lead, and uplift community.

The Jack and Jill of America, Inc. National Youth Trip—The Journey to History: Lineage to Legacy to Charleston, SC —was nothing short of transformative.

Our families didn’t just visit history…they contributed to it. Through a heartfelt book donation effort, we helped create JJOA Literacy Centers, ensuring that culturally relevant stories are placed directly into the hands of local children.

From meaningful service to unforgettable fellowship, this trip was filled with connection, culture, and community. Bonds were strengthened, new friendships were forged, and our legacy continues to grow—together.
