Asthma is the #1 cause of missed school days, making clean, healthy indoor air essential for student well-being and academic success.

This Asthma Awareness Month, we’re spotlighting the Clean Air School Challenge (CASC), a program helping schools take meaningful action to reduce asthma triggers and improve indoor air quality (IAQ).

We are incredibly grateful for the tremendous support from our community in advancing our mission through the Oxygen Ball, which raised a record-breaking $475,000! Congratulations to our 2026 Lowcountry Dancing with the Stars Champion, Tara Wood! We extend our sincere thanks to all of our Celebrity Dancers—Brandy Blynn, Jay Claypoole, Scott Eisberg, and Amber Mufale; the professionals at International Ballroom; our outstanding Chair, Laura Patrick; and our dedicated Executive Leadership Committee. We also deeply appreciate the generosity of our sponsors, attendees, donors, in-kind supporters, and auction contributors who made this event such a success. Photo by the fabulous John Kurc.

Today we release the American Lung Association’s 2026 “State of the Air” report, and the findings are clear: too many children - nearly half - are growing up breathing unhealthy air.

Despite decades of progress, 152 million people of all ages still live in areas with unhealthy levels of ozone or particle pollution. Recent EPA rollbacks will result in even more pollution in the air we breathe.

This Earth Day, join us in calling on EPA to protect the health of every child.
