🚴 USA Cycling Pro Road National Championships | Criterium

The traffic impacts, road closures, parking restrictions, and access modifications planned for Thursday will be the same as those in place for this evening's (Wednesday, June 17) races.

(And yes, we've checked the dates ✅, days of the week✅, and coffee supply✅)

🚧 TRAFFIC IMPACTS | THURSDAY, JUNE 18

⚠️ Due to the speed of the cyclists and the nature of the race course, hard closures will be in place along the race route beginning at 5 PM.

🚗 If you need to enter or exit the Criterium footprint by vehicle, please do so before 5 PM. Once racing begins, there will be limited opportunities to cross or leave the race route by vehicle.

🚶 Pedestrian access will remain available at designated crosswalks.

🅿️ No on-street parking will be permitted within the Criterium footprint beginning at 5 PM. 🚨 Towing will be enforced.

📍 ACCESS INFORMATION
• Summers St Parking Garage remains accessible via temporary two-way traffic on Capitol St.
• Four Points by Sheraton guests should use Laidley St and Washington St for hotel access.

🛣️ No race-related impacts to interstate access are anticipated.

As we prepare for race week, we want to remind residents and visitors that many of the traffic impacts associated with USA Cycling will be familiar. If you experienced the Time Trials, Criterium, or Road Races during the past two years, you can expect similar road closures, detours, parking restrictions, and modified access.

• Full closure

• Vehicles must be moved by 7 AM

• Full closure
• Alternate routes required

• Westbound travel lanes and parking remain accessible

Please note a change to previously published traffic information.

Beginning at 12:30 PM today, June 15, the closure on Kanawha Blvd will be extended from Pennsylvania Ave to Hale St.

📍 What this means:
• Eastbound traffic on Kanawha Blvd will be routed to Pennsylvania Ave
• Destination access will remain available between Clendenin St and Pennsylvania Ave for westbound traffic

🚴🎖 REMINDER: USA Cycling -- City Center Relocation & Service Modifications

Beginning on Monday, June 15th through Sunday, June 20th, KRT buses will be unable to access the City Center Station due to the 2026 USA Cycling Pro Road National Championships. A temporary transit center will be located on Summers St. and Donnally St. to load/unload KRT passengers.
