The City Center Business Improvement District (BID) is a multi-block district of Downtown Charleston, WV (including Summers, Washington, Court & Virginia Streets) formed in 2021. il after the majority of private property owners within the district petitioned the city in favor of the BID. The property owners assess themselves a fee to support public enhancements such as safety, streetscape and art as well as branding and business development opportunities. The City Center BID Board of Directors employs a BID Ambassador charged with patrolling the district daily and assisting with maintenance issues, safety, visitor services and more.
