On Saturday, July 25th, our Heroes on the Water - Lowcountry chapter gathered at the Oyster Recycling Landing for an incredible day on the water.
The forecast tried to cancel our plans, but we took a chance—and it was absolutely the right decision! Despite the overcast and breezy conditions and a quick 3-minute rain shower, we had an amazing turnout.

🙌 By the Numbers:

14 Participants came out to relax and unwind.
7 Volunteers worked to keep everyone safe and supported.
The fishing started a little slow, but persistence paid off! By 1:00 PM, nearly everyone had a fish on the line and a story to tell. 🎣

WHAT A DAY! Saturday, June 27th was an absolute beauty, even if it was a scorcher!

Our Heroes on the Water -Lowcountry SC Family gathered at Poplar Creek Landing in Elloree, SC, for our monthly event. We had an incredible turnout with 16 participants hitting the water and 7 amazing volunteers making sure everything runs smoothly 

Thank you to everyone who braved the heat, brought the energy, and made it such a memorable day on the water. We couldn’t have done this without our phenomenal community!

251 years ago today, ordinary people stepped forward and accepted an extraordinary responsibility: to stand for something bigger than themselves.

Since then, generations of soldiers have carried that legacy forward.

The Army's birthday is often celebrated through history, tradition, and milestones. But at its heart, it's really about people.

People who missed birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays. People who carried heavy packs, heavier responsibilities, and the expectation that others were counting on them.
People who lived everyday understanding that service isn't just a moment, it's a mindset.

At Heroes on the Water, we're privileged to spend time with many Army Veterans whose service continues long after they leave active duty. Their leadership, resilience, and commitment to others remain part of who they are.

Happy Birthday, U.S. Army.

On Saturday, May 30th, Heroes on the Water - Lowcountry hosted our monthly event at the Barrow Pit in Manning, SC. The weather remained favorable, contributing to a meaningful day of healing and fellowship. Several fish were caught, and a member of our leadership team, Heath, prepared Jumbalia for attendees.

We extend our gratitude to all participants and volunteers whose efforts ensure the success of these events.

National Police Week starts tomorrow - the focus is remembrance. It’s also a time to acknowledge something less visible.

Across law enforcement, military service, and first response, the impact of the work often extends well beyond the end of a shift. Not always in ways that are easy to define — but in ways that are widely recognized by those who live it.

It builds over time.

Long hours.
Difficult calls.
A level of awareness that becomes routine.

Eventually, that becomes the baseline.

We’ll share stories from officers who are still carrying that reality every day, and what begins to shift when there’s finally space to intentionally step outside of it.
