What a beautiful day on the water with Heroes on the Water - Lowcountry!

On Saturday, September 19, 2026, we gathered at the scenic Bulow Boat Landing in Ravenel, SC, for another incredible day of therapeutic kayak fishing, relaxation, and connection.
We had an amazing turnout of 15 people in attendance, including:
7 participants (veterans, first responders, and their families)
8 dedicated volunteers keeping everyone safe and supported on the water

The weather couldn't have been more perfect for a day on the river, and the fish were biting; as an added bonus, everyone caught something! Whether it was a big tug or a small bite, smiles were all around as our heroes reeled them in.
After a successful morning of paddling and casting lines, we headed back to shore to fuel up. Crunching into a classic lunch of hot dogs, Chili, and chips, the group spent the rest of the afternoon enjoying some well-deserved fellowship, sharing stories, and bonding under the Lowcountry sun.

Thank you so much to all the volunteers who gave their time to make this event happen, and to our brave participants for joining us to paddle, fish, and heal.

25 years ago, September 11 changed our country.

Today we remember those who lost their lives, the first responders who ran toward danger, the families forever changed and the men and women whose service was shaped by what followed.

For many veterans and first responders in our community, this day carries a personal weight.

We will never forget.

What an incredible day on the water with Heroes On The Water – Lowcountry!

Despite the August heat, our community came together at Paradise Landing in Awendaw, SC, for a fantastic day of kayak fishing, therapeutic wellness, and camaraderie. We were thrilled to host 16 amazing participants and 6 dedicated volunteers who made sure plenty of fish were reeled in.

A massive, heartfelt thank-you goes to Catrina and the staff of Woodmen Life Chapter 368. Not only did they keep everyone fueled up with delicious catered food, but she also blessed our chapter with a remarkably generous donation of $1,576.04. Your incredible support helps us keep serving our local veterans and first responders. We are so grateful.

On Saturday, July 25th, our Heroes on the Water - Lowcountry chapter gathered at the Oyster Recycling Landing for an incredible day on the water.
The forecast tried to cancel our plans, but we took a chance—and it was absolutely the right decision! Despite the overcast and breezy conditions and a quick 3-minute rain shower, we had an amazing turnout.

🙌 By the Numbers:

14 Participants came out to relax and unwind.
7 Volunteers worked to keep everyone safe and supported.
The fishing started a little slow, but persistence paid off! By 1:00 PM, nearly everyone had a fish on the line and a story to tell. 🎣

WHAT A DAY! Saturday, June 27th was an absolute beauty, even if it was a scorcher!

Our Heroes on the Water -Lowcountry SC Family gathered at Poplar Creek Landing in Elloree, SC, for our monthly event. We had an incredible turnout with 16 participants hitting the water and 7 amazing volunteers making sure everything runs smoothly
