Lowcountry Up is Good to Participate in Summerville May Day

Summerville, SC, USA- Lowcountry Up is Good will participate in the Summerville Mayday Demonstration set for 4 to 7 pm on Hutchinson Square by offering progressive issue button making and an envision a better Lowcountry Transit and Community Planning activity. Participation is free and open to all.

Participants will have a variety of button designs to color. After they have chosen and colored a design, volunteers will use our button making machine to complete their wearable badge. Designs will focus on a living wage, transit and affordable housing.
The Transit and Community planning activity (Image, left), very popular with children, provides a 12 x 16 canvass map of the Lowcountry. Participants can use brio wooden train tracks and model buildings to design a more sustainable and rewarding Lowcountry for the future.

Charleston Progressive Forward A More Perfect Union Events for America 250 being planned now
Charleston, SC- Progressive Lowcountry activists are planning nine days of events to meet America’s 250th. Anniversary with a celebration of the historic struggle for diversity, equity and inclusion which has driven America’s progress and which will carry the US and SC forward through 50 more years to a Tricentennial which finds our community fairer, more just and kinder. The 10 event schedule spans nine days, beginning June 26 and concluding July 5, including Carolina Day and the 4th. Of July. Events planned include picnics, concerts, pot lucks, forums, demonstrations and tours.
