Friends, if you haven't made your dinner reservations for January 22–24, now's the time! The Holy City has so much to offer, but since so many people visit solely for the culinary scene, you can save yourself some waitlist frustration by picking out your dinner spots ahead of time.

And if these pictures are making you hungry––whether it's for great food or for insight from eminent scholars who will help you develop understanding and compassion for a culture that has come to embrace false messages of liberation and self-fulfillment––we hope you've signed up to join us for the 2026 Mere Anglicanism Conference! If you haven't, head right now to mereanglicanism.org to secure your seat!

Justin Whitmel Earley is a lawyer, author, and speaker from Richmond, VA. He graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in English literature before spending four years in Shanghai as a missionary. A graduate of Georgetown University Law Center, he now runs his own business law practice in Richmond, Virginia.

Mr. Earley’s book "The Common Rule: Habits of Purpose for an Age of Distraction" was published by InterVarsity Press in 2019 and was named 2020 Book of the Year in the Christian Living/Discipleship category by Christianity Today. His second best-selling book, "Habits of the Household: Practicing the Story of God in Everyday Family Rhythms," was published by Zondervan in 2021. He also authored "Made for People: Why We Drift into Loneliness and How to Fight for a Life of Friendship," which focuses on the spiritual discipline of friendship.

Mr. Earley frequently speaks at businesses and legal events on habits, technology, and mental health; and at churches and conferences on habits, spiritual formation, and parenting. During his talk on day two of the conference, he will address the topic of friendship in a fragmented world.

We hope you can join us in beautiful, historic Charleston, SC, for this supremely important gathering! Our lineup of world class-scholars and theologians will help us not only to develop understanding and compassion for a culture that has come to embrace the lies of expressive individualism, but also to construct a positive vision for how we can practically and joyfully devote ourselves—our bodies and souls—to the service of God and neighbor.

Additionally, this conference offers opportunity for Christian fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ from all over the world. Register today at mereanglicanism.org!

Friends, we are so excited for the return of the Mere Anglicanism Conference in less than THREE months––January 22–24, 2026, in beautiful Charleston, SC! Our lineup of world class-scholars and theologians will address this year's conference theme, "You Are Not Your Own: Gospel Identity in an Age of Expressive Individualism," helping us not only to develop understanding and compassion for a culture that has come to embrace the lies of expressive individualism, but also to construct a positive vision for how we can practically and joyfully devote ourselves—our bodies and souls—to the service of God and neighbor.

Our first speaker spotlight is on the Rev. Dr. Carl Trueman, who will open the conference with his talk, "Where Does It End? Expressive Individualism’s 'Brave New World.'"

Born and raised in England, Carl Trueman is a graduate of the Universities of Cambridge (M.A., Classics) and Aberdeen (Ph.D, Church History), and he has taught on the faculties of the Universities of Nottingham and Aberdeen. In 2017–18 he was the William E. Simon Visiting Fellow in Religion and Public Life in the James Madison Program at Princeton University. Since 2018, he has served as a professor at Grove City College in the Calderwood School of Arts and Humanities.

While he was originally a specialist in Reformation and Post-Reformation Protestant thought, Dr. Trueman has focused his work more recently on identity, critical theory, and the impact of the sexual revolution. He is a contributing editor at First Things and a Fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center in Washington DC.

His most recent books are "The Rise and Triumph of the Modern Self: Expressive Individualism, Cultural Amnesia, and the Road to Sexual Revolution" (named 2021 Top Book in Public Theology by the Gospel Coalition), "The Oxford Handbook of Calvin and Calvinism" (with Bruce Gordon), and "To Change All Worlds: Critical Theory from Marx to Marcuse." His writing has appeared in Deseret Journal, The Wall Street Journal, National Review Online, American Mind, Claremont Review of Books, and Public Discourse.

Friends, we are pleased to announce that registration for the 2026 Mere Anglicanism Conference opens this coming Wednesday, September 10, at 9:00 a.m. (EDT)!

We in western society often hear sayings such as “Follow your heart” or “Be true to yourself” held up as messages of liberation and self-fulfillment. Yet the apostle Paul reminds Christians, “You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.” This is the message of true freedom and purpose.

Our lineup of world class-scholars and theologians—Albert Mohler, Carl Trueman, Mary Eberstadt, Michael Nazir-Ali, Vaughan Roberts, Justin Whitmel Earley, and Stephen Presley—will help us not only to develop understanding and compassion for a culture that has come to embrace the lies of expressive individualism, but also to construct a positive vision for how we can practically and joyfully devote ourselves—our bodies and souls—to the service of God and neighbor.

The conference will include two festal worship services, an opening Choral Evensong and a Choral Eucharist, as well as two services of Morning Prayer. The registration fee of $275 includes all sessions and conference materials; lodging and travel are not included.
