The Bee Grant and free STEAM-based lesson plans prepare students and educators to explore pollinator education! For students of all ages, a look into a hive can revolutionize their understanding of our shared habitat while learning how a hive works together towards a common goal. The Bee Cause Project delivers teaching tools to communities and classrooms so long looks into a hive turn into STEAM e

๐Ÿ Belonging matters.

Just as biodiversity strengthens ecosystems, diversity in perspectives strengthen our communities. Beyond the beehive, creating and protecting spaces where everyone feels valued helps people grow, learn, and contribute their unique gifts to the world.

This month, we celebrate the importance of belonging and the freedom to bee yourself.

Happy Pride Month! ๐ŸŒˆ

๐Ÿ Natureโ€™s hardest workers donโ€™t really get weekends off. From the moment honey bees emerge, they immediately begin working to support the hive. However, pollinator education requires us to slow down long enough to notice their work.

This weekend, spend a little time observing the pollinators around you. Notice how many you can find, the variety that appear, and which plants seem to attract them most.

The more we observe the natural world, the more connected we become to protecting it.

Bi-weekly Bee Grant recipient update:

Felton Grove High School's FFA recently celebrated a major milestone as the first school in their district to welcome live bee hives to campus.

With support from our partnership with Whole Foods Market Foundation, Bee Grant funding helped provide the FGHS Agriculture Department with essential beekeeping equipment, including hives, protective gear, and of course, bees.

Two thriving nucleus colonies, each containing five frames of bees and a queen, were recently installed into the schoolโ€™s hives, giving students hands-on opportunities to explore pollinator science, agriculture, and environmental stewardship in real time.

What makes student access to live hives even more special is the collaboration happening across campus. Students are not only learning about bees, but also contributing directly to the success of the hives through agricultural and technical skills that connect classroom learning to the natural world.

๐Ÿ Bees are celebrated every day around here, but this week is especially meaningful.

๐ŸŒŽ Tomorrow is
๐Ÿ’ And the following day, The Bee Cause Project celebrates its 12th Hatch Day!

Over the next two days, weโ€™ll be sharing ways you can help protect pollinators through education, advocacy, and everyday action.

Plan a moment for tomorrow to step outside, appreciate the bees hard at work around you, and celebrate the tiny pollinators that help sustain our ecosystems and food systems alike. Stay tuned for more ways to bee the difference.

Your bi-weekly Bee Grant recipient update:

As we look forward to World Bee Day on May 20th and ahead to The Bee Cause Projectโ€™s 12th anniversary, weโ€™re continuing to see incredible impact from our TBC + Whole Foods Market Foundation grant recipients. The updates keep buzzing in, and we couldnโ€™t be more excited to share them with you!

Today, we want to share the latest from South Carolina Governor's School for Agriculture at John de la Howe. Students now have a live bee hive in their school cafeteria, creating new opportunities for hands-on pollinator education every day.

We also want to congratulate student bee advocate Emily S., who was named the state winner of the Foundation for the Preservation of Honey Bees Essay Competition. We are so proud of her passion, leadership, and commitment to protecting pollinators.
