West Virginia pharmacists are key allies in overdose prevention—offering guidance, education, and care with compassion.

Today is National Fentanyl Prevention & Awareness Day—a time to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and share resources that can save lives.

Illicitly manufactured fentanyl can be present in counterfeit pills and other substances without a person’s knowledge. Knowing the signs of an opioid overdose and keeping naloxone nearby can make a critical difference.

West Virginia pharmacists are accessible healthcare partners who can help individuals and families learn about naloxone, how to use it, and where to obtain it. Start the conversation with your local pharmacist today—awareness and preparedness save lives.
