SCAPA is your professional organization and functions as a volunteer association consisting of an Executive Director, Board of Directors, and various committees. Congratulations Rita and Elizabeth!!!

Congratulations to Rita Brown, Elizabeth Cole, and the University of South Carolina PA Program – one of TWO 2026 recipients of the Kathy J. Pedersen Grant to Promote Equitable Care! Their project will address gaps in emergency preparedness by increasing access to free, culturally responsive, lifesaving education. Ten training events in trusted spaces will reach areas at higher risk for poor cardiac arrest outcomes, including underserved urban and rural populations and minority communities with higher cardiovascular mortality rates.

The USC School of Medicine PA Program’s “Cocky on Call” team took home the 2026 Challenge Bowl trophy! Give these students some love for all their hard work studying and preparing.

Charleston Southern University "Trauma Llamas" did an awesome job making it a competition worth watching! And we can’t forget the faculty! They joined the fun for a special round against the attending students, to also join the winner’s circle.

Special thanks to SCAPA CME Committee Co-Chairs Chad Robinson and Anjinetta Yates-Johnson for their leadership, with Chad serving as our Challenge Bowl host. Thank you to Anjinetta, SCAPA member and speaker Eric Shoup, and SCAPA Past President Amy Allen for serving as judges and helping make the competition a success!
