The forecast for tomorrow Wednesday, October 14, 2026 is looking very good so we are on for our Astronomy in the Park outreach event at Brittlebank Park. There will be a beautiful four day old crescent Moon early on and we can check out the Gang of Four large craters near the eastern limb. Venus sets at 7:00 PM but we can take a good look at the crescent planet before it sets. Saturn will rise above the trees around 7:30 and will be up for the whole night. Her gorgeous rings are more visible now than they were last year and we should be able to see a few of her moons. There a lots of great targets in the night sky to check out. The Sun sets at about 6:45 so we will be setting up around 6:00. Come join us early to catch the last views of Earth’s twin for a while.
