Congrats to the 2026 graduates of the WV School of Banking! Students participated in a full week of classes, course work, and our hands on banking simulation at the University of Charleston campus. The week wrapped up on May 22nd featuring presentations from our Year 2 students and a graduation ceremony for our Year 2 & 3 students who completed the program.

But the year's not over yet! We have several educational opportunities to participate in towards the end of summer and entering the fall. Yesterday, our banking school students had a productive day-long course load, followed by an evening cookout featuring red, white, and blue everything. A special thank you to Entertainment Official for helping make Wednesday night memorable.

Today, our students are wrapping up their classes for the week. Year One students will spend their last full day in Outreach & Business Development, a Legislative Update, Communication Skills, and Intro to Bank Exec. Year Two students will finish their Bank Exec decisions and presentations, while Year Three students will focus on Cash Management, Board of Directors, and Advanced Bank Exec.

We are looking forward to enjoying tomorrow's presentations from Year Two and celebrating the 2026 WV School of Banking graduates!

Day two of banking school featured a full day of classes. Year one included Asset Liability Management, Bank Financial Analysis, Compliance and Management Styles.

Year two received Team Building/Leadership guidance followed by Capital Planning & Liquidity and Business Planning while making their Bank Exec simulation decisions throughout the day.

Year three worked on their Advanced Bank Exec decisions and attended lectures for Mergers & Acquisitions and Fraud Prevention/BSA. Tuesday ended with a free evening to focus on course work and catching up on down time.

We are looking forward to a red, white, and blue day three!

West Virginia Bankers welcomed the 2026 School of Banking last night at the University of Charleston. Students got right to work in their first courses of the evening. Monday started with a full day of classes concluding with downtime enjoying an evening of tacos, games, and networking.

We are excited to see how the week unfolds and all the fun and learning our bankers partake in! Stay tuned as we share snippets from throughout the week.

Rounding out the WV School of Banking highlights - let’s hear from Year 3! The Lloyd P. Calvert Graduate School of Banking provides third-year students with tools to turn insights into action, tackling real-world challenges across technology and community impact. Completing the full three-year program provides future leaders with the knowledge and network to continue delivering exceptional service to their customers and communities.

Have you registered for the 2026 West Virginia School of Banking? Now is the best time!

The WV School of Banking is committed to the best quality education for your bankers with the latest in banking information, procedures, and technology.

Our program consists of formal instruction, lecture, case analysis, group discussions and, in the second year and third year, Bank Exec, a computer-based bank management program. Between the first and second year, home-study problems will be assigned for completion prior to the beginning of the session. Sessions include guest lectures by speakers with outstanding reputations in the banking field. In addition, WV School of Banking Fellows, CEOs, senior bank managers and regulators, are available for informal and wide-ranging discussions throughout the week.
