9/11 Heroes Run - Charleston, SC Our 2025 5k race is 9/13 on Charleston's Daniel Island. Join us in honoring those lost on 9/11.

The 9/11 Heroes Run is a 5K run/walk in honor of the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11th, 2001, while also honoring the service and sacrifices of our military and first responders. The 9/11 Heroes Run is hosted by the Travis Manion Foundation, a military 501c3 non-profit organization, and takes place in more than 65 locations around the world! The Travis Manion Foundation was founded by the

family of fallen Marine 1st Lt. Travis Manion, who was killed during his second tour of duty in Iraq in April of 2007. Before leaving for his second and final tour, someone asked Travis why HE had to go...Travis' response, "If Not Me, Then Who..." The mission of the Travis Manion Foundation is to assist our nation's veterans and families of fallen heroes. By inspiring and activating everyone with the generous spirit of those who serve, we hope to instill in them the importance of character, leadership, integrity and leading a life of service. Through mentorship, advocacy, the Character Does Matter program and the 9/11 Heroes Run, we hope to engage and inspire people of all generations to give back to their communities and to continue the legacies of our true American heroes. Proceeds from each 9/11 Heroes Run benefit the Travis Manion Foundation, as well as LOCAL military and first responder organizations within each community that hosts the event! Since our inaugural race in 2012, our 9/11 Heroes Run - Charleston has donated more than $152,000 to local first responders agencies, for the purchase of life-saving equipment!!! Additionally, $152,000+ has been invested back into the Travis Manion Foundation in support of the many programs to assist our nation’s veterans, Gold Star Families and to inspire our future generation of leaders!!! It’s an incredible honor to support our true American heroes and we invite you to join us! The run season is upon us! As we all have recovered from the bridge run, come out tomorrow as we honor a true American Hero Pat Tillman. Tomorrow is a day to show up for remembrance of Tillman’s sacrifice, but while you are there, stop by our tent and talk with us about getting signed up for our 15th 9/11 Heroes run. This year marks 25 years since that tragic day. Mark your calendars 9/12/26. Hope to see you there!

Today, we honor those who have honored us. Today, we say thank you to every man and woman who have answered the call to serve our Nation. Today, we recognize that without their service we would not be enjoying life as we know it.
