Catastrophic Illness Benefit
After one year of good-standing membership, Woodmen Life offers a $1,000 benefit should you be diagnosed as having one of the following diseases: Lung Cancer, Leukemia, Brain Tumor, Tuberculosis, Malignant Lymphoma, Multiple Myeloma, or Hodgkin's Disease. Orphan's Care Benefit
Orphaned children of qualified members can receive monthly benefit payments. Plus, additional funds are available to orphans attending college or vocational training. Newborn Benefit
Qualified 100 percent Woodmen Life families can receive a $10,000 fraternal benefit if their newborn infant dies between the ages of 48 hours and six months. During that same period, a $10,000 guaranteed-issue life insurance certificate can be purchased at standard rates, regardless of the baby's health. Natural Disaster Benefit
Qualified members whose homes are damaged or destroyed by natural disasters, such as hurricanes, tornadoes, wild/forest fires, or earthquakes, may be eligible for up to $500 to help with home repair costs. Prescription Drug Discount Card 2
The no-cost prescription drug discount card offers members the lowest price available on drugs purchased through the Script Save® network of pharmacies. Youth Program, including Summer Camp
Our century-old youth program offers members ages 8 through 15 educational and social activities. And for more than 60 summers, youth members have taken advantage of the annual summer camp experience. As we do flag presentations after so long it’s time for replacement.We can get any size US flag for free up to a 5 X 8 then the chapter has to pay for them.Along with the US flag we present as a common courtesy a state flag for nonprofits who fly the state flags and religious organizations we do the Christian flag.Our Secretary wanted me to get a list of places that we presented flags to and we are going around and slowly replacing them.
Today we are replacing the flags at the South Charleston Station # 1 and 3.
Receiving the flags was Station Secretary was Rachel Lindsey,Capt Troy Painter,FF Caleb Childers,FF DorianLandis and FF Carl O’Neal.

The Ronald McDonald House was a nonprofit facility that when families are facing difficulties they can come there and relax while their families recuperate from illness.
Receiving the supplies on behalf of the House was Tina Koffer,Brooke Field and Sarah Miller.

Members of the Charleston Chapter # 254 presented a brand new W.Va flag oblong with a POW to Bruce Pernell Director of the Veterans affairs.This was done at the men’s shelter on Leon Sullivan Way in Charleston,as.Va.Particpating in the presentation was Secretary Loretta Baldwin,Lula Cavender and Charla Casey. Photographer was Bill Cavender and we did this as a community service.
