South Carolina State University 1890 Research & Extension’s Community Economic Development Program is preparing to launch its Fall 2026 Nonprofit Development Micro-Certificate Program.
When: September 1–October 15, 2026
Dates & Times: Tuesdays and Thursdays | 6:30–8:30 p.m.
Program Delivery: Virtual format. The flyer states that the series will be delivered in a hybrid format. Please note that the series will be offered virtually only. We apologize for any confusion.
This comprehensive program is designed for emerging and established nonprofit leaders, board members, staff, volunteers, and community advocates. Participants will receive practical training in:
• Starting and structuring a nonprofit
• Board development and governance
• Federal and state tax-exemption requirements for SC
• Financial management and internal controls
• Strategic planning and organizational sustainability
• Grant writing and fundraising
• Technology, and AI tools
Participants who successfully complete the program will receive a micro-certificate and gain valuable tools to help build stronger, more sustainable organizations.
