The Plane Janes need your help!

All of our wonderful club leaders have moved on to take on new career opportunities. They did so much for our members beyond just teaching them about computer science, and they will be missed! This leaves us with the opportunity to bring on new leaders who will continue to use the Girls Who Code program to teach and mentor our members in the future.

Girls Who Code club leaders:
-Must be at least 21 years old
-Go through WVU's volunteer vetting process which includes a background check and two sections of online training
-Use materials and follow guidelines set by Girls Who Code (more info here: https://girlswhocode.com/programs/clubs-program)
-Run club meetings at least once a month either in person or online
-Do not have to be computer science masters or coding wizards, but do need to be interested in and invested in helping club members learn more about computer science and coding

This would be a great fit for a college student in need of community service, a retiree looking to stay connected and share their expertise, or anyone who likes hanging out with a great group of teens.

If we do not have at least 2 vetted volunteers by October 1 (the beginning of the club year), the Plane Janes will take a hiatus for the 2021-2022 club year.

If you are interested in more info about how to be a club leader for the Plane Janes, email Jocelyn Crawford at [email protected]
