I spent too many years surviving instead of living.

Recovery taught me that getting sober wasn’t the finish line—it was my opportunity to finally live the life I almost threw away.

Take the trip. Make the memories. Laugh until it hurts. Tell people you love them. Chase the purpose God put in your heart. Stop waiting for the “right time.”

Your life isn’t a rehearsal. This is it.

And I’m damn grateful I’m still here to live mine.

One thing I’ve learned in recovery: never underestimate someone who decided they’ve had enough.

You’re not looking at the same person who walked into addiction. Recovery builds something different—strength, humility, discipline, gratitude and purpose.

We’ve already survived the version of ourselves that almost destroyed us. Now imagine what we can build with that same fight pointed in the right direction.

Never underestimate a recovering addict. We know how to come back from hell.

Getting sober is the beginning. Our families may still carry years of fear, waiting for the next crisis or late-night call.

Healing happens when enough safe days begin to replace those painful nights.

Give them time. Keep showing them that life is different now. ❤️

I spent too many years letting things I couldn’t control control me.

Today, I try to keep it simple: I control my attitude, my actions, my effort, and how I respond. The rest? I’m learning to let that s**t go.

Peace comes when you stop fighting battles that were never yours to fight.

Control what you can. Release what you can’t. Keep moving forward.

💜

3,217 days.

Not all of them have been good days—but every one of them has been a better day than what was.

Recovery isn’t about never having hard days. It’s learning how to navigate them, grow through them, and keep moving forward. And maybe that’s what teaches us to appreciate the good days so much more fully.

We do recover. And I’ll keep recovering out loud so others know it’s possible. 🙌🏼

Addiction was never just about the drugs or alcohol. For me, it was about trying to silence pain I didn’t know how to deal with.

Recovery taught me something different: you don’t have to numb the pain—you can heal from it.

That’s where freedom begins.

I fought too damn hard for the peace I have today to give it away cheaply.

Protect your peace. Protect your energy. Protect your recovery.

Not everyone deserves access to what you worked so hard to rebuild. 💙

Through every version of me—the good, the bad, and the times I completely lost my way—my mom never stopped loving me.

She believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself.

A huge part of the man I am today is because of the woman who never gave up on me.

Love you, Mom. ❤️

Sometimes we want our families to trust the person we’ve become before they’ve had enough time to forget the person we were.

Give them time.

Our words may introduce the change, but our actions prove it. ❤️

One thing recovery taught me: I don’t have to carry everything by myself.

Before the worry, before the fear, before trying to control everything—go to God first. 🙏

Faith doesn’t mean life gets easy. It means I know I’m not walking through it alone.
