Abandoned Boats - A Comprehensive Overview
For months documentary filmmaker Jeff Phillips has been riding along with Wounded Nature - Working Veterans and documenting the abandoned boat problem and removal process. Along the way he interviewed a State Representative, DNR officers, Charleston Police, Harbor Unit, and members of the Coast Guard who volunteered their time on their days off to assist. He even interviewed one of the individuals living aboard one of the derelict non-running boats downtown. Many of the individuals in this documentary will be in attendance and along with myself will be viewing this documentary for the first time

Children are welcome and a food menu will be available..

Film starts at 5. Questions answered after.

Charleston County was proud to partner with Wounded Nature - Working Veterans, South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, and the City of Charleston Police Department's Harbor Patrol Unit earlier this week to remove abandoned boats from our local waterways. Our Public Works team helped haul and demolish the derelict vessels, clearing hazards and protecting our coastal environment.

The joint effort was part of a larger, ongoing initiative to keep our waterways safe and clean, and we’re grateful for the teamwork that made it possible.
