WV Trail Conference. ✔️it out!

The West Virginia Trails Conference is almost here! Join trail leaders, managers, advocates, communities, volunteers, and enthusiasts from across the state November 8–10 at Pipestem Resort State Park for three days of learning, conversation, connection, and celebration of the trails that make West Virginia special.

With a full slate of plenary and breakout sessions, hands-on learning opportunities, and dedicated Practical Surface Trails track and Water Trails track, there’s something for everyone who is involved in creating, managing, and enjoying trails. It’s also a great opportunity to connect with others from across West Virginia, share ideas, tackle common challenges, and help shape the future of our state’s trail network.

Keeping Rail Trails Rolling: A Working Session for Rail Trail Managers

Rail-trail managers, this one is for you! This two-hour, hands-on working session, facilitated by the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, will focus on the practical challenges of maintaining, assessing, and improving rail trails. We’ll explore assessment tools, maintenance strategies, creative approaches to opening and managing new trails, and the questions and challenges managers are facing today—with plenty of time for peer discussion and problem-solving.

WV has withdrawn its application for a Nuclear campus.

After being selected by the earlier in September to participate on a new nuclear energy program, Gov. Patrick Morrisey and state energy officials submitted a letter Wednesday night declining to proceed after the governor said the state would not be a dumping ground for waste. Story link in comments.

Governor Morrissey has announced $20
Million in infrastructure improvements to our WV State Parks. These seem like good projects that protect our State Parks and keep our pristine and keeps recreation non-motorized !
