Catalyze, Inc. Love Christ, Love Others..... Get involved!!!! Join the Movement!!!! Make a difference!!!! Purpose:

The primary purpose of Catalyze, Inc.

is to catalyze the positive transformation of individuals and communities through the power of Jesus Christ at the grassroots level. Its primary focus is to develop relationships and rapidly spread and deeply embed the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our hope is to catalyze apostolic viral movements for Jesus Christ and his Kingdom in impoverished and crime-ridden neighborhoods through creating decentrali

zed all-channel networks of disciples and small groups. Secondary purposes include: enlightening the public about downtrodden neighborhoods; discovering and developing leaders; educating individuals and organizations on the topics of neighborhood mission, evangelism, and leadership; and inspiring and motivating individuals and organizations to take a more active roles in their calling and faith. Strategies:

We rapidly spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ through developing, multiplying, and reproducing small groups of disciples in downtrodden communities through individuals that are un-churched, de-churched, or against church by developing relationships in neighborhood contexts (bars, homes, restaurants). Entrance into the neighborhood and relationship initiation is achieved through a research enlightenment project which stimulates conversations and allows the catalyst to learn the culture and the people within the culture. We approach those within the neighborhood without prejudgment or bias (to the best of our abilities) and with the posture of a “learner” in order to achieve a higher and more true understanding. We keep in mind the scriptural truth that “all are created in God’s image” and have the capability of goodness within them. We give up our sense of control and power in order to empower and serve others. We go to the neighborhood with one primary thought, “How can we serve you?” We go with open hands to serve all - nonbelievers and believers alike. We demonstrate how love and humility reflect the true nature of God. After we meet someone and possibly interview them, we tell them about our small groups and invite them to take part. We utilize Life Transformation Groups (LTGs) as developed by Church Multiplication Associates (CMA) and professor and best-selling author Neil Cole. The method includes scripture reading, weekly meetings, discussion, confession, and prayer. Other methods borrowed from CMA and other missiologists such as Alan Hirsch will include teaching, mentoring, and raising up indigenous leaders within the neighborhood. Small groups will be multiplied by the people within the neighborhood and not outsiders with the exception of the initial catalyst(s). The first and current neighborhood being focused on is the West Side Neighborhood in Charleston, West Virginia. Corporate strategies include providing speaking presentations with or without multi-media to those within the organizational church or other Christian organizations on the topics of neighborhood mission, leadership, and evangelism. The goal of these presentations is to educate and inspire the members of the organization to become more active in their faith and more aware of the impact they can have for Christ.

One of the best sermons I've ever seen...

This past Sunday I had the opportunity to enjoy one of the best sermons I've ever seen by the Lead Pastor of Bible Center Church, John King. It's a sermon that really speaks to how people understand and practice Christianity. It is a pertinent message in our current culture and time.

I've had many discussions with Christian's whom believe they "got it right" and others, including other Christians, "got it wrong" and they will let you know about it. I've also had many conversations with Christian's that believe God is all love and no wrath - some people very close to me. They feel that as long as you are a good person and try to do your best, everything will work out. This sermon discusses both sides in a way that may be eye-opening and thought-provoking to some.

John teaches directly from scripture. No one has a God's eye view and interprets scripture perfectly. However, we should always maintain the posture of life-long learners and strive to understand what the Bible is trying to teach us in order to grow in and to become more like Jesus throughout our lifetimes. It's worth the watch. Let me know what you think. I'd love to discuss.

Love Jesus. Love others. ~ Todd

A BLAST FROM THE PAST!!

Is anybody still out there? LOL. Well it's been about 4 years since my last post. A lot has happened in my life since that time. Including the death of loved ones, COVID, continued growth of my new PT business (which has taken far to much of my time), family challenges, and the closing down of the bar I was doing small groups in on the West Side of Charleston.

I'm still loving Jesus as much as ever though. Without him, know I would have made some poor decisions and taken some wrong actions these past 4 years. He has allowed me to be completely broken down at times - but never let go. I am so grateful that he has helped me through so many challenges. Anyway, the family and I are good and things seem to be looking up. I hope 2024 proves to be a good year. For you also.

God has been reaching out to me lately and I've been leaning more into Him. So, I've decided to share some of my writings / papers from Wheaton College on the page. I hope they stir some thought for you. Let me know what you think. Coming soon......

Love Jesus. Love Others.

Todd
