One of the biggest takeaways from our KCCA Community Meeting was this:

Many of the concerns residents brought up—large trucks using roads they shouldn’t, potholes, vagrancy, criminal activity, overgrown lots, leaves and debris, damaged sidewalks, streetlights, and many other neighborhood issues—can be addressed through the City’s Response Program.

The City can’t fix problems they don’t know about.

The good news is that this system really does work. When residents take a few minutes to submit a service request, those requests are tracked and routed directly to the appropriate department for action.

Imagine what Kanawha City could look like if hundreds of residents reported issues instead of just talking about them on social media. We would likely see faster responses, cleaner streets, safer neighborhoods, and a stronger community overall.

Let’s all do our part. If you see something that needs attention, report it.

First, I just want to say thank you to everyone who came out to our quarterly KCCA community meeting. It was fantastic to see such a great turnout of residents who genuinely care about Kanawha City.

The questions were thoughtful, the discussions were productive, and several community concerns are already moving toward solutions because people took the time to show up and speak up. That’s exactly how positive change happens.

Let’s keep this momentum going! Our Annual KCCA Meeting is coming up in September, and I’d love to see us fill the room. The more residents we have engaged, the stronger our voice becomes and the more we can accomplish together.

Thank you to our board members, city officials, and everyone who invested an hour in making Kanawha City an even better place to live.

Onward and upward!

🚨 REMINDER: KCCA Quarterly Community Meeting – TONIGHT! 🚨

📅 Tonight
🕕 6:00–7:00 PM
📍 City National Bank – Kanawha City

If you care about the future of Kanawha City, this is your opportunity to be heard.

⭐ Special Update! ⭐
Pam Burka has been meeting directly with GoMart officials and will be sharing exciting news about the new GoMart coming to Kanawha City. If you’ve been wondering what’s happening with the project, you won’t want to miss this update.

We’ll also have city officials in attendance, giving residents the chance to ask questions, voice concerns, and hear updates on what’s happening in our community.

This is YOUR neighborhood. Whether your concerns are roads, safety, development, parks, traffic, or anything else affecting Kanawha City, this is the place to have those conversations.

We hope to see a great turnout tonight. Let’s show our city leaders that Kanawha City residents care about the future of our community.

See you at 6:00 PM!

🚨 KANAWHA CITY TOWN HALL MEETING – JUNE 25 🚨

If you’ve ever had a question, concern, suggestion, or idea about Kanawha City, this is your opportunity to speak directly with the people making decisions in our community.

📅 Thursday, June 25
⏰ 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM
📍 City National Bank Conference Center (Kanawha City)
❄️ Air Conditioned • Comfortable Seating • Plenty of Parking

More than 13 city officials are expected to attend, including representatives from:

✅ Mayor’s Office
✅ Charleston Police Department
✅ Building & Zoning Department
✅ Planning Department
✅ Public Works
✅ City Council Representatives
✅ Additional city leadership and staff

Topics expected to be discussed include:

• Development projects in Kanawha City
• Traffic and road concerns
• Public safety
• Code enforcement and zoning questions
• Community improvement ideas
• Future projects affecting our neighborhood

One piece of feedback we’ve received is that residents want more opportunities to hear directly from city officials about issues that matter to them. That’s exactly what this meeting is designed to provide.

At our last town hall, only two residents attended. We know Kanawha City has thousands of residents with opinions, concerns, and ideas. If we want our voices heard, we have to show up.

This isn’t a political event. It’s a community conversation.

Bring your questions. Bring your ideas. Bring a neighbor.

Let’s show our city leaders that Kanawha City cares about its future.

Please LIKE, SHARE, and TAG a Kanawha City resident who should be there.

If we don’t have good participation then this will be the last quarterly meeting.
