Vantage Point Foundation serves Post-9/11 Veterans in various stages of transition and recovery from trauma. Vantage Point courses are held every 6 months and serve veterans from across South Carolina. Our participants suffer visible and invisible injuries and, now faced with these challenges, are working to find a new reality. The 6-day Vantage Point Course starts by addressing the core issues of
combat stress, interpersonal relationships and self-awareness. The next step helps them visualize their goals/objectives and gives them the tools to restore hope and renewal. Given the nature of their injuries and their individual progress toward transitioning into the civilian world, each warrior will have a unique Vantage Point experience pertaining to what they carry home and apply to their everyday lives. For some, Vantage Point gives them the support, courage, and determination to drive a car again or go into a crowded store. For others, they are motivated to complete a college education or find full-time employment serving others. Vantage Point gives them a new perspective to see a clear path for a new trajectory. The pride and sense of accomplishment these warriors feel when they take steps to improve their lives is Vantage Point Foundation's definition of success. Vantage Point provides graduates with continued support and encouragement as they strive to meet their full potential, providing support to the Veterans and their families for one year following the course. The success of the Vantage Point program and the individual accomplishments of the warriors served cannot be defined as a number. Instead, success is measured in repaired relationships, new-found sense of self, and the knowledge that they are not alone in their journey. Vantage Point provides the opportunity for our nation’s heroes to find the lives they deserve.
