Hello friends. We hope everyone has a beautiful Valentines weekend. We also wanted everyone to know we will be observing President’s Day Monday and the shop will be closed. We’ll be back Tuesday.

Warming Centers will be open from Friday January 23 - Wednesday January 28th (and most likely much longer)

Keep checking the KVC page for more information.

If we get the snow as forecasted, The Neighborhood SHOP—Showers + Healthcare Outreach Program will be open 24 hours a day until people can safely go to the Centralized Assessment office during day time hours.

We will work at keeping this page updated as to what buildings are open.

Warming Centers will be opening Wednesday and Thursday nights. 7p-7a in the GYM at the The Neighborhood SHOP—Showers + Healthcare Outreach Programrhood SHOP—Showers + Healthcare Outreach Program
Also, the Centralized Assessment (CAT) office will be open from 7a-7p on Thursday January 15, and will open at 7a on Friday morning.

And as a reminder - Warming Centers are for ANYONE who needs a warm place to be. If you are experiencing homelessness, or if you just need a warm place for any reason. We are going to ask you your name (we want to call you something), and if there is anything we can help you with besides a warm place to be.
Secondly, people are allowed to come and go at the warming center. People do not need to be there when it opens, and it is not mandatory that someone stays all night.
Everyone involved with the planning, implementation, services, and funding of the warming centers just want everyone to remain safe.

🧣❄️ Warm Winter Items Drive ❄️🧤

As temperatures drop, many in our community struggle to stay warm. United Way of Central West Virginia is hosting a Warm Winter Items Drive to help ensure everyone has the essentials they need to stay safe and comfortable this winter.

We are collecting:
• HOT HANDS hand warmers
• New or gently used coats
• Blankets
• Scarves, hats, and gloves
