Welcome Charleston. We need you to Speak Up!
As residents of Charleston County, we all value our beautiful Lowcountry landscape. But County Council plans to pass an amendment that would permanently alter this landscape.
They want to exempt roadway development from both the Site Plan Review and Tree Ordinance - Consider that....they want to exempt the County from it's own rules and a process that has worked well for over 20 years.
What does this mean to you?
It will affect your property taxes and and it will destroy thousands of grand trees that define our home.
It takes away public and peer review of critical infrastructure projects.
We need to improve our roads. We also need to preserve and enhance the unique character and natural beauty of where we live. This is a delicate balance. These proposed changes eliminate any semblance of balance in favor of roads at any cost.
This isn't progress. It's destruction.
