Folks, the recycling bins are NOT FOR TRASH. We found two buckets of food waste in one of paper bins today. Not only does this STINK!!! Really Bad. But with only two employees, we don't have the time to stop and pull this stuff out.

Additionally, we lost quite a bit of paper. Our buyers WON'T buy materials when they smell bad.

We appreciate those of you who take the time to Recycle Right!

Slack Street Recycling Center will be OPEN this Saturday, February 14th from 9am-5pm.

PLEASE USE CAUTION when on the drop-site lot! There's still a lot of ice in between the bins that our equipment can't get to without moving everything. We know the temps are higher but the sun doesn't shine on that side of the lot. If you are unsure of being on the ice, please hold your materials until next week. Thanks!

Wed. 2/11/26 - PLEASE USE CAUTION if you're visiting the Slack Street Recycling Center today. Our lot is a TOTAL SHEET OF ICE.

During yesterday's big thaw, we were happy to see all the ice and snow finally melting. However, this morning, all that water has turned to black ice.

We have no more ice melt. And there's not much we can do. If you can wait another day, we URGE you to do so.

SLACK STREET RECYCLING CENTER will be CLOSING at 2pm due to the inclement weather and deteriorating road conditions. This will allow our employees enough time to get home safely.

With next week's forecast looking much warmer, we hope that this ice will melt and operations can get back to some sort of normalcy. I know we all need that!

Stay safe and stay warm!

Feb. 4, 2026 - Slack Street Recycling Center drop-site is OPEN today.

We chose NOT to scrape the lot this morning to allow for some traction over the thin layer of ice on the ground.

PLEASE USE CAUTION when on drop-site lot.
