HOLIDAY SCHEDULE: The Slack Street Recycling Center will be CLOSED on Friday, June 19th in observance of Juneteenth and West Virginia Day (20th). Operations will resume on Monday, June 22nd with normal hours of 8am-5pm.

REMINDER: The Slack Street Recycling Center drop-off lot will be OPEN tomorrow, Saturday, June 13th from 9am-5pm.

As always, the lot will be unattended so we ask that you please use at your own risk. Please use caution when unloading materials. Please DO NOT leave bags of materials on the ground - that is considered litter. We appreciate each of you that follow the rules and help keep our site clean!

HOLIDAY REMINDER: The Slack Street Recycling Center will be CLOSED on Monday, May 25th in honor of Memorial Day.

Operations will resume as normal on Tuesday, May 26th opening at 8am.

This is a day to stand in solemn remembrance of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice while serving their country for our unwavering freedom.

The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office is partnering with the DEA for National RX Take Back Day this Saturday, April 25, 2026.

Drop off your unused prescriptions between 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at all KCSO detachments:
• Elkview – 1078 Main St.
• Sissonville – 6817 ½ Sissonville Dr.
• Quincy – 2700 East Dupont Ave.
• Cross Lanes – 903 Cross Lanes Dr.
• St. Albans – 6809 Ohio Ave.

✅ Accepted: tablets, capsules, patches, other solid meds
🚫 Not accepted: syringes, sharps, illicit drugs
💧 Liquids must remain sealed in original containers

Clean out the medicine cabinet and help keep these drugs out of the wrong hands.
