Today we release the American Lung Association’s 2026 “State of the Air” report, and the findings are clear: too many children - nearly half - are growing up breathing unhealthy air.

Despite decades of progress, 152 million people of all ages still live in areas with unhealthy levels of ozone or particle pollution. Recent EPA rollbacks will result in even more pollution in the air we breathe.

This Earth Day, join us in calling on EPA to protect the health of every child.

Va**ng was marketed as a “safer” alternative, but experts like Panagis Galiatsatos, M.D., MHS, warn that this perception is setting up a new generation for lifelong lung disease.

Today, 1.63 million middle and high school students report using e-cigarettes. Many already show early signs of harm: chronic coughs, recurring bronchitis, asthma that’s harder to control, and decreased endurance during sports.

Learn more about the dangers of va**ng:

Just because it isn’t obvious, doesn’t mean va**ng isn’t negatively affecting your health.

On World Cancer Day, we pause to recognize the millions of people whose lives have been impacted by cancer in different ways, at different moments and with different outcomes.

About every two minutes, someone in the U.S. is diagnosed with lung cancer. But lung cancer is more than a diagnosis or a statistic. Behind every number is a person. A family. A story.

Today, you can take action in a way that’s meaningful to you:
🫁 Share your story: lung.org/share-your-story
📞 Talk to a Lung Health Navigator for personalized lung cancer support at 844-ALA-LUNG
💙 Connect with others impacted by lung cancer by attending an event or volunteering: lung.org/get-involved

Together, we honor every story and keep pushing for earlier detection, better treatment options and lasting hope.
