We have some news to share.

In a very unexpected turn of events, an irresistible opportunity has presented itself that will take my husband, our daughter, our coonhound and me from Charleston to Berkshire County, Massachusetts. I grew up in the Berkshires, and it is a place we love, but the move is bittersweet because we adore Charleston and our dear friends, neighbors, and work here.

The New Muse Board of Directors and I agree that it makes the most sense for New Muse to end our 2025 season with our upcoming May 18 concert, and we hope you’ll join us.

Come celebrate the end of our joyous tenure in Charleston at one of our favorite places in the city — Principle Gallery Charleston at 125 Meeting Street — on Sunday, May 18 at 4pm for an afternoon of string quartets and angels, followed by a cold glass of champagne!

Our May 18 concert is right around the corner and tickets are available for a special price of $15 — reserve a place now! See below for details of this beautiful and unusual program.

This program pairs the deeply moving Molto Adagio from Beethoven’s String Quartet, Op. 132 with living composer Mohammed Fairouz’s rousing quartet, The Named Angels. Each movement of Fairouz’s quartet paints a portrait of one of the angels named in the Islamic, Christian, and Jewish traditions — angels who embody justice, power, kindness, healing, and death.
