James Island Pride: Making Our Island Beautiful

Through education, beautification and preservation of our island's environment, we aim to develop and encourage a sense of pride of place and people among all James Islanders. James Island Pride is a citizens' committee sponsored by the Town of James Island but our reach extends to all residents of the island, regardless of political boundaries. Our beautification goal is to encourage churches, Scout troops, families, neighborhoods, any group of people who care about the island to adopt the roadway of your choice through Adopt-A-Highway.

We’re meeting this morning at 9:00 AM at Simeon Pinckney Park, 461 Fort Johnson Road before heading out to help our neighbors.

What is Helping Hands?

It’s one of the ways James Island Pride works directly in our community. Volunteers come together to help neighbors who may need an extra hand getting their yards cleaned up.
Mowing, trimming, clearing, cleaning and simply showing up to help.
