The SAFE team is busy building a framework for a global elasmobranch genetics database for critically endangered species, with the Bowmouth guitarfish being our pilot species! Congratulations to our partners Singapore Oceanarium and Shark Ray 360 on this first release. As part of SAFE's Direct Species Conservation Action goals, we continue to learn more about the bowmouth guitarfish genetics, husbandry, care and reproduction and we are working together with global partners to save sharks and rays from extinction!
