Every year, our Step by Step - Big Ugly Community Center Afterschool students learn responsibility and hard work through starting, maintaining, and harvesting a garden. We then take what we have grown and cook delicious meals together to encourage healthy living!

Verification of Sharing Intent/Application with Community

To Whom It May Concern,
This letter serves as official verification that Step By Step Inc. is informing the general public and community stakeholders of its intent to apply for funding through the West Virginia Department of Education (WVDE) 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) grant program.

Step By Step Inc. plans to submit two grant applications to support the continuation of free after-school programming in Kanawha County and Logan County, West Virginia.
These programs are designed to provide safe, supportive, and enriching environments for students and will include services such as:
Academic tutoring and homework assistance
Nutritious meals and snacks
Summer programming opportunities
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) activities
Character development initiatives
Drug prevention education
Educational and enrichment field trips

The purpose of this notification is to ensure transparency and to inform community members, partners, and stakeholders of our intent to seek funding that will continue to benefit local youth and families.

Step By Step Inc. remains committed to strengthening the community by supporting student success, promoting positive youth development, and expanding access to quality out-of-school-time programming.
