Emancipation Proclamation Association of Charleston

Emancipation Proclamation Association of Charleston The Emancipation Proclamation Association of Charleston was chartered by the Secretary of State over 100 years ago.

Its mission is to advance the cause of freedom through public education, Watchnight Services, parades, scholarships & community service. You are about to experience a little of The Emancipation Proclamation Association of Charleston's History and activities. EPAC has a long prideful history that goes back 100 years. However, most of what we have been able to compile dates back over forty years. Mo

st of the earlier historical information has been turned over to Avery Institute to archive for the enjoyment of future generations. Facebook and our new website, that will launch soon, will provide a glimpse of past parades, church services, king and queen contests, scholarship recipients and community activities. You may recognize pictures and events that are significant or hold special memories for you. You are invited to share any of your Emancipation pictures of parades, queen contests, events, etc., (subject to review before posting). Please provide as much information about your photos, i.e., event, date, individuals pictured, etc. We invite you to join us, or message us with any information you wish to share.
